I was invited to a private event. I WENT to a private event. I pretty much know why it was done this way. Yes, the title for the thread could have been chosen a little better, but the fact is, he was trying to let you guys know not to expect another Willow Lake type event from him. It's not out of spite, either. There are other issues involved which I'm not at liberty to discuss. If Jim wants you to know what they are he'll tell you.

Personally, I'm glad he did things the way he did this year.

Plus the fact that once the private event was over, it THEN became public. If it was a private event, then why post the results in public? I've had many private BBQ's at my home since I've been reading OCDO. Never once have I thought to post pics of it on here. This thread kind of smacks of middle school girl click'ishness. I couldn't care less if I was invited, as I most likely would have never attended. Bluetooths are like fannypacks, to be avoided! I just find it a little silly that it was posted afterwards, as an attempt to be a "look at us, we're the cool kids that were at the cool party! Those that didn't get invited are loosers".

Deros post was to brag after the fact for some self serving issue/s he has, and it comes down to there were many on the forum whom have not spoke out that looked forward to being included in this big OC Event and likely regardless if prizes were given or not, it did not need them, I believe it was more toward the aspect of being apart of something big and now turned childish.

I should not have to remind otherwise good contributing members as to the forum rules and intents - that infighting and insulting or belittling each other does no one any good and drags the forum down with it.

IMO this thread has been destroyed so I'm locking it. If someone wants to readdress the meet-up and take the high road in so doing fine, start a clean thread, but leave the churlish behavior somewhere else.

Not directed at any one specific poster.
