Yes, this was better than some, BUT IT WAS NOT AS GOOD AS IT COULD HAVE BEEN!
I quit watching/listening after the officer said he was going to keep the firearm for a little while while he was checking out the individual WHO WAS FOLLOWING THE LAW. If this happened in California, which I think it did, then the officer exceeded what was allowed by 12031(e) which is simply a loaded/unloaded check--- no serial number checking, to ID checking of the carrier.... Simply a 30 sec or less NON-Consensual encounter that the Calif. law ALLOWS but does not require.
BTW, I firmly believe even the simple (e) check without going any further by the officer is a violation of our constitutional rights to be free of UNREASONABLE SEARCHES OR SEIZURES of our property, persons, and papers!
