I like my S&W Shield 9mm for the grip size when CC and the S&W M&P 9mm when in an OC state.
Am thinking of stepping this up to the XDM 45 acp for OC. Seems that the recoil of the XDM is a little less than the Shield - probably due to the larger mass and lower moment of inertia.

I conceal carry a gen 4 Glock 30. And a Kel-Tec .380 P3AT on my right ankle.

Welcome to OCDO! Stick around, and you'll be openly carrying that Glock in greater comfort in no time at all. Check out the Indiana threads and you'll no doubt find some great information.

I carry a S&W M&P 9c in an Eagle industries ACU drop-leg holster. Once I convince my dad to let go of it I'll probably also carry a 1910 Colt .38 special but i'll have to get a nice leather OWB holster for that

I have been carrying lately around the home and my walks on the road a old Colt Police Positive 32-20, manufactured 1911. When I find what the wife did with the camera I'll try to get a picture up.

Open carry 99 percent of time with Taurus PT145 Millineum Pro in 45ACP. Always carry 2 spare mags. I had a nightmare once that I was in gunfight with 3 bad guys and I didn't have extra mags. Didn't turn out very good for me. Also pocket carry Taurus 709 slim in Uncle Mike's pocket holster.

I carry either a GP100 or an SP101. I'd carry my Super Redhawk but it makes me walk funny.

Sigma/Self-Defense? I'm actually a little jealous of that duo-tone. It just looks boss. Has some character. Reminds me of the old S&Ws that were all metal.
Some new S & W are all metal 2 tone:

E series 1911

Hmm, well...?

I do happen to like the current stock of what they have. I've never been one of the 1911 guys. I know I'll get crucified in person for saying this but...

The design is 100 years old. There are very few things we use, even if that have stood the test of time, without some sort of improvement. I know every manufacturer has their own spin on the design, you know, that's just me, I guess. I look at it as the NASCAR approach to gunmaking (they use old and new technology, instead of all new, for.... reasons I don't quite understand).

First S&W I handled, under supervision, was my grandmother's 61 escort. Gramps service weapon of choice was the 645 and had an awesome stainless 459, and the second version M&P, the model 10, in .38 special. In the closet was a S&W model 3000, which was lost back there and became rusted shut.

These are the guns I think of when I think of old Smith & Wesson. Nostalgia... its a sonofagun.

Take a look at these beauties

I sent my EDC (VZ-82) to the shop for cerecote. They said it would take about five weeks. That was not the case and time dragged into weeks and weeks and I finally got it back after six MONTHS.

The point is this. I started carrying my old Ruger P-85. It is a full sized weapon and I have noticed that "others" are noticing me more often. This I do not mind as I have established myself in my little community as a "regular guy".

Yesterday I saw a beyoootiful Para 1911, NIB, w/2 mags and all the other stuff in the case for US$600 out the door. I may be forced to purchase this weapon.
