Visiting Wisconsin from Washington State

I'm looking at being in Wisconsin from December 12, 2020 through about January 4, 2021 visiting my wife who decided to move to Kenosha to get away from the craziness happening in Washington State. I have a current Washington State CPL & knw that Washington & Wisconsin have reciprocity.

I'm just wondering about the differences between the two states in regards to OCing & where allowed to carry.

The primary concern is going to be that I'm going to be spending the majority of time in/around Kenosha.

I know in Washington State signs do not carry the weight of law, & at most all that can be done is to be trespassed if you refuse to leave when asked.

Not driving, looking at doing Amtrak (just got to find out what can be done for firearms in checked baggage if the departing station does not do checked baggage).

Even though Amtrak wants you to inform them of possession of firearms, my research shows that no security checkpoints are used a terminals.
As a friend says: conceal that gun and keep your mouth shut and conceal that gun.

See Section 159. At this point I can only find for declaring a firearm is only required in checked baggage.

Truth be told have not traveled by Amtrack since 1976 when I went from SEATAC > NYC...never again...at the time I co was almost worse than traveling by greyhound!

The statute appears to say that having a license or permit that is valid in Wisconsin makes carry in the zone legal. It’s actually being on school grounds itself that’s a big no-no.
The state wisely ranked non-licensed carry in the zone down to a forfeiture (non-criminal) but still complies with the awful federal law.

In regards to the Federal Gun-Free School Zone, each state allows resident CPL holders to be within the 1,000 foot radius with no issues (generally), as there can be circumstances where the resident lives, or does business, within the 1,000 foot radius. The same cannot be said about non-residents with reciprocity.

Basically how I am reading & understanding the regulations, is that Amtrak follows the TSA mandate for firearms in checked baggage.

In regards to Greyhound & firearms: Can I take it (greyhound.com)

As stated in the above PDF, firearms & related accessories are not allowed anywhere on the bus.

State law does say they need to be posted on the outside door. With that said, I do not know what enforcement has been like when a sign is too small and/or not in the proper location.

Our leaders have been feckless ever since Act 35 was passed. The only improvements have been police (current, retired, or even fired) can carry on school grounds, but us serfs cannot, plus the restriction on carrying in state parks was removed. That's it. Act 35 was "good enough" to pass and gave us some crumbs. There was no real push for anything else because they didn't want to "rock the boat" with the libs. We definitely need better leadership because they decided to rush to vote for new leaders a week or so ago, but not look into all the voting irregularities.

All the information in that thread is current because nothing changes and nothing will change for at least 2 more years because we have sleepy Evers (D) and the republican leadership will not push anything and not working towards better goals for us. They are perfectly fine with the status quo.

I'm just trying to get ideas from "boots on the ground".

I'm also looking at using info from Handgunlaws.us, ConcealedCarry.com, USCCA, & a few other online resources.
