The economy is in the dumper, and a lot of folks try to save a buck wherever they can. Hence, they buy "crap" - or
almost "crap" - ammo for practice, and keep the Hornady or Speer Gold Dot for carry. Speaking of Hornady, they have recently come up with a really clever marketing scheme - "
Zombie MAX" rounds! It's essentially nothing more than one of their standard JSP SD loads in a new box. Their marketing is apparently effective, because Impact Guns, in Ogden UT, can't keep it in stock -
especially in
9mm. Here's what their packaging says:
Warning: This is Live Ammunition. This is not a toy.
Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES!
 It made me smile... so I bought some! Pax...
