Yes, the local (Baton Rouge) newspaper, The Advocate, did the right thing by reporting on the lawsuit settlement with the Gonzales police.
Now, it's time for the local TV community to quit squandering airtime doing fluff stories on social gatherings and other such "stuff."
Please consider calling WBRZ 225-387-2222, ask for Chuck Bark, news director.
Ask Chuck how he can continue to turn a blind eye to such an obvious violation of constitutional law as committed by the Gonzales police.
Over at WVLA, Jeff Hamburger (225-766-3233) is the news director and a CCW permit holder, too. Maybe a few prods from the OC community would stir Jeff.
WAFB ??? LOL, as long as Vicki Zimmerman is news director, don't waste your time. Unlike Nickki Fellenzer at thelibertyzone.com, I'll refrain from calling her a douchenozzle.

I'm surprised to see that WVLA has a news division now; they dropped it years ago when I lived in Baton Rouge. At the time they had no chance of competing with WBRZ and WAFB who were both neck and neck in the ratings and WAY ahead of WVLA.

Have you tried talking to George Sells directly? He was a fighter pilot (served in Vietnam, I think) and while I don't know his position on guns, he might be open to the idea of your story if he can work out some kind of angle to it that he thinks the average viewer would appreciate.

BR needs all the additional media outlets the market can carry.
Someone needs to break the stranglehold on supressing the REAL news in BR.
George Sells has made comments both on and off air which told me I didn't need to call him. If you wish to give it a shot (no pun intended) go right ahead, be my guest. Please let me know the results.
Having a CCW guy running the news dept for WVLA can only be a plus.

I knew George when I used to live in Baton Rouge many yeears ago. Maybe I'll get in touch with him next week and see if he'd be interested. What did his boss Vicki Zimmerman do to you? I couldn't find the reference on thelibertyzone.com.

WVLA has confirmed they have all the pertinent documents (40 pages) pertaining to my unlawful arrest down in the police state of Gonzales.
The fact they've gone through the effort of obtaining them indicates a real, genuine interest on their part to take a fair and impartial look at the facts.
If anyone were to contact Jeff Hamburger @ jeff.hamburger@nbc33tv.com and show an interest, it certainly could only help.
