CAUTION: The Foxhole is NOT open carry friendly. Myself and a friend who is a Vietnam Vet were asked to leave today unless we were law enforcement. Are law enforcement officers privileged under the Bill of Rights and Citizens 2nd class citizens?


BTW, we spent several hundred dollars at neighboring business including 92 Yankee and Historical Military Sales. Both were more than happy to take our money and be polite, courteous and kind.



I will be following up with a letter to the owner if I can find the info....

That is probably correct, however, I have been there a half a dozen times and never been asked to leave. This is only the 2nd business (post #489) that I have ever been asked to leave in the last 4 years. I will now correspond with the owner and see if I can sway their opinion.

I fully support you making an issue of this with the store's management, however I would ask that you not use the Bill of Rights argument. It is erroneous. The Bill of Rights has no application on private property. To make such an argument undermines your credibility, and the credibility of our movement.

I think that was included due to the irony of it. A veteran is asked to leave a surplus store, both were gov. property, it's like the two things should go together.

It is akin to kicking drunks out of bars or banning screaming children from playgrounds.

Simply verbally claiming to be someone isn't impersonation, there has to be an affirmative act or intent to defraud based on that claim.

The stolen valor act was tossed on the grounds that claiming to recieve a military award that you didn't recieve was free speech..... I'll find the case.

Not that I advocate doing this, btw, but I doubt the DA would have a prosecutable case against someone who did just say "I'm a cop"

This makes me think of a recent story I saw in the joint base news publication that are out and about....but not certain.

Basically, the story was a op-ed piece that was critical of Foxhole sales policy. They were not going to sell any AR15 style guns or large capacity clips to anyone but Gov't and LEO....

I'm pretty sure it was them, I'll see if I can find it...

For example, in a defensive situation, while trying to stop a threat verbally before resorting to deadly force, one can first shout to get a police officer's attention to your predicament. Then, immediately thereafter, shout to the threat to stop his activity. It might sound something like this:

"POLICE! FREEZE!"
