I always wonder why our harshest critics seem to be CCers. I think it may be because they feel "special" somehow, having earned some "credential" that reinforces their sense of superiority. They always seem shocked when I say that I have a CPL when they ask me about OC. If I were a general CCer in Michigan, the way our laws are written, I would at least OC in the PFZs... I wish more would.

yeah, that's ok, OC doesn't need ted as our "face" anyway. honestly, i think our credibility is doing just fine (maybe better) without him. i mean, really, put most of us OCers (even with a gun) next to him and tell me who the general public is going to pick out as "weird". and i get that he has done a lot for the second amendment, but attacking us is like attacking the most forward tip of the spear when it comes to firearms rights.
we are the "every day, on the streets" firearms ambassadors. because the only other people that the general public sees with guns are the ones on the news, tv and movies. and generally that doesn't cast us in the most favorable light.

Fixed. :lol:

No, NOW its fixed.

OT: Ted, well, when I found out for the first time he was anti OC i was pretty confused... then I realized he has the same issue that the NRA has. He makes too much money from lobbying and compromise to worry about logic and the constitution, and he owns too many guns himself to pretend to be a liberal.

Picture this;
8 or 9 people, among them Uncle Ted(most everyone who knows him knows he is always armed), are in a convenience store. The thugs park their stolen car, lights off, engine running, radio on playing Cat Scratch Fever, and come in to rob the place and recognize Ted. You fill in the blanks as to what happens next as the thugs all know that he is armed(might as well be OCing). P.S.Ted is distracted because of the cleavage behind the counter. I would rather be OCing, strong side toward the counter-wall-chip rack as to be Ted.springerdave.

that's true... a celebrity who widely publicizes the fact that he is armed is a MUCH bigger target than an unobtrusive OCer standing nearby. so much for your "tactical advantage" :dude:

Tactical advantage does not justify arguement with me.
If a person chooses to conceal or open carry, I have no complaint because its their decission.
If someone wants a "Tactical Advantage", start your own ARMY!!! :lol:
The most effective way for a person to prevent themself from being a victim is "Situational Awareness"...
If you want Tactical Advantage, then go get some Tactical Training!!!

If the National Regulation Association felt they could make more money and garner more members/power from widespread OC you'd better believe they'd put a muzzle on him.

a "celebrity"

http://www.informatics.sussex.ac.uk/department/docs/punctuation/node31.html

Quotation marks used in this way are informally called scare quotes. Scare quotes are quotation marks placed around a word or phrase from which you, the writer, wish to distance yourself because you consider that word or phrase to be odd or inappropriate for some reason. Possibly you regard it as too colloquial for formal writing; possibly you think it's unfamiliar or mysterious; possibly you consider it to be inaccurate or misleading; possibly you believe it's just plain wrong. Quite often scare quotes are used to express irony or sarcasm

He's an irrelevant dink and if I had children and saw him walking towards us in a store I'd move my children away....because he's weird.
