Great turnout yesterday! Nice to see a few new members show up to the group. Got to shoot an awesome 1873 Winchester replica in 44-40 (love that caliber!) and a P3AT, which is probably a great pocket/BUG, except for the trigger reset which I'm not a fan of (same as the PF9). Thanks for letting me try those guys!

And I finally deflowered my bump-firing cherry with an AR-15 carbine (thanks!). Speaking of which, here's a video of that rubberband technique...I think we needed a thicker rubber band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVfwFP_RwTQ&feature=player_embedded

Here's another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIC8SMttjjo
This guy is so good at it...definitely had a little practice.

And MSG/John, here's my AR pistol you asked me about. Pretty standard, but I did make an ambi-charging latch for it, has a small Maglite with a thumb-switch, and a single-point sling for ease of carry/transition to handgun. The holographic sight is an Optima 2000/J-Point, which is the same as on my carry pistol so it stays very familiar between the two. Another advantage I hear is that it's very easy on the eyes for those whose vision isn't what is used to be...see this forum: http://www.warriortalk.com/forumdisplay.php?205-Red-Dot-Sighted-Pistols

Still needs some stuff for it to make it exactly how I want it. Needs some flip-up iron sights, an ambi safety selector, and a BAD lever for starters.

Ski, you may have hurt my feelings....(NOT) so old people need red dots and lasers?? Say it ain't so coach!! Nice looking pistol. As the manufacturer/builder do you have to have any kind of document to go along with it??
Lori and I had a crakerjack time at Billys and enjoyed the company. Seven years in Bellingham and it is the first time we had been there. We will be going to the 2A gathering for sure. Thanks everyone

haha I didn't mean you specifically there MSG...but for those that don't have the eyesight like they used to, they claim that the red-dot sight helps a ton. It's easier on the eyes to line up the target and a dot versus the target, front sight, and rear sight...not to mention for most folks it's much faster. Here's a couple write-ups on it if you don't want to sift through that forum:
http://www.warriortalknews.com/2010/04/red-dot-sights-on-pistols-why.html
http://www.warriortalknews.com/2010/09/tsd-glock-the-future-of-combat-handguns-.html

Oh and about the AR pistol, no paperwork needed aside from when I bought the receiver from my FFL...but that is his paperwork, not mine. If you bought one face-to-face, there wouldn't be any paperwork at all attached to your name.

Agree on age making some things more difficult. When you have to make a choice which sight is going to be in focus, the front, or the rear, then you look to "red dots" or even extended eye relief scopes.

Those that make fun of us who have reached the "mature years" can laugh all they want. In the end Mother Nature will get the last one.

When that happens they'll find themselves the object of all the jokes they used to toss around toward "their elders".

Forgot to mention, the girl working the greeter desk asked how she and her boyfriend could "join the club" as I was leaving. Gave her a flyer so hopefully we'll see a couple new people here finding out about their rights.

I don't reload.

Also forgot to mention how fun it was to test the kevlar jacket (no one wore it), I recommend Seattle Wood carvers should invest in these.

It stopped the .22, ball .40, hydrashock .40, 9mm hollow point , and the shotgun pellets. Did I forget anything?

Poo it wouldn't let me see pics in link

I always have to bring something fun to play with. I think we took a shot with 380 also. The amazing thing was the 3x 00buck at room distance that hit the same place and stopped before going through at all. My internet got turned on today, so I'll try to post pix.
Oh, and I learned to bump-fire the AR from the shoulder.

Yeah, I had a great time. Can't wait for the next outing. I'm gonna try to find someone to watch the kids so my wife can come out next time. She really wants to go shooting again.
