Well guys I have had enough. I had this place out in Granite Falls off the Mt loop that I have gone to for years. Well I was there Memorial day and went back today only to find GIANT rocks in the way and it marked for something. I walked back in there to find that someone after me came and used a shotty to log with. I thought I would give a few of you a little advice or share my opinion.

1. Anytime you go shooting....pack out what you pack in. Assholes leaving garbage shut down a place real fast. #2 Will get it shut down faster....
2. DO NOT MOW DOWN TREES!!!!!!As much fun as it is to cut a tree in half with an AK it is not smart. Yes I have done it in the past, so I am not saint either.
3. Don't tell people you don't know or idiots you do know about your spot.

Was a sad day for me. Now I have nowhere to shoot and I only hope you guys that still do can keep it.

Sorry to hear that, yeah I can imagine the crap you would have to put up with. Especially being in Lynwood where the options may not be that great.

If you ever make it up towards Whatcom County we have a nice area or two we are happy to share with responsible shooters.

Ya that would be nice. I love the outdoors, plus I can't "rapid fire" in the ranges around here..or even unholster. I live 1-3 mins away from Sams...but that place.....refuse to give my hard earned money.
Edit: Had to clarify something. I rapid fire in a safe manner and not ALL the time. Not to mention how lame it is not being able to quick draw a Vaquero:banghead:

Does shooting at this fit within the scope of RCW 9.41.300? Or is this private land?

I think they can block the road but can't stop you from going in there and shooting. I posted a letter from AG on that subject somewhere here.

I went up with a friend to go shooting at a spot near darington and somebody left a couple of alunimum (5 x 3 )sheets and plastic buckets. So we shoot at them for a bit and i loaded them into the pickup. I also have a small range bucket that i throw brass into. It helps because i reload.

Thank you very much. Do you have any more specif information that may help me. I wouldn't mind going back, but I would like to keep within the law and not do anything that could get me in trouble so to speak.

Found it took/ me sometime. I am definately not a lawyer. But the areas I shoot in are gated off and the Sheriff's department told me as long as I am following the other rules and it is public land I am O.K.

Here's the whole letter.

I do know around the area there are campgrounds, BUT not in line or right next to it. If it was deemed "illegal" to shoot in this are(even though it is not marked)...what could you be facing. I mean if an officer was to give a stern warning or such it wouldn't be that big of a deal to try, but I sure don't want to loose my right to carry/own a firearm. I know you are not a lawyer, so any opinions on the matter are very welcome. Thank you.

Edit: It is in Snohomish County.

Talk to your Sheriff's department. I did they told me even if I was inadvertantly breaking the "law" or in a no shooting zone, as long as I was meeting the requirements the would just have me move further along and wouldn't arrest or press charges.

Keep in mind his Sheriff is not your Sheriff and the outcome is completely dependent on the individual deputy or game agent that responds to either a call or has an on-view. Snohomish county has pretty good documentation on no shooting zones.

Obviously they are not, but his opinion made me think of a few things I forgot about. Thanks for the map though. This should help with other areas I had/have It seems that my spot appears to be safe.

I refuse to go to 98% Ranges now. Nothing beats outside. I will shoot rain, snow, sleet, shine, and whatever else can be thrown into the mix. Some of the rules have just made shooting at the range unpleasant.

Hey metal, I live in everett area also, movin mor lynwoodish. I shoot mostly ranges ans I dont know any of the back wood areas. PM me sometime if you go shooting my tag along . right when I wanted to go to sultan basin it closed, few other spots but no one here(work) clarifies where its at.

as far as ranges go my concern is mostly the rapid firing at outdoor ranges. renton fish and gameL: 1 round only in gun at a time.....yeah thats real fun and practical with an AK. I had good success with norpoint couple weeks ago, I was rapid firign both ak shotguns and handguns. range guy just asked that we change our target after a while so he could tell we were hitting it ( birdshot made targets go by by, but me being cheap i would aim in any white area not shot yet.) I never had problem at sams, but my friend and I that shoot warn them that we will do it, and that we are in law enforcement/military. Havnt had a an problems....holster drawing is a no but that doesnt bother me too much.
