He was murdered by LEO. The LEO got off scott free. Seattle needs, no it deserves, a constant reminder of that abuse of power and authority. If for no other reason, that's enough justification for the existence of the Totem Pole.

Perhaps it's time for another memorial. There's one that honors Law Officers that die in the line of duty, why not one that honors those who die at the hands of Police Officers when they are doing nothing more than going about their life?

Yes, John T. Williams had a problem with alcohol. He also was a gifted artist. Through his art he probably contributed more to society than the majority of "sober" people out there.

Oh I understand the alleged over reaction by the officer and references to similar, but that isn't the point of the OP. Nor is that the theme of the exchanges regarding the victim's worthiness to be remembered and racial undertones. Those are the things that trouble me and seem inappropriate for OCDO.

Then let the Administrator/Moderator's close the thread if they see the same concerns. Do you have something to contribute or are you just trying to fatten your "Post Count"?
