Non-religious, right-leaning activism is in short supply.

I often believe the state will enact a law to see if they can get away with it. There is little activism on the libertarian-conservative side of life. If you are a Chapel Hill, Cary, Raleigh, Charlotte, or Asheville liberal looking to hunt down those working in the nuclear power industry or the firearms industry there are tons of yahoos who will pop out of the woodwork to fuel and help your cause. Ditto for those looking to help out some poor, hapless inmates who wouldn't mind killing you or your family.

However, if you are looking for some civic minded people to help reverse the limits placed on your rights to own weapons or on your ability to exercise non popular rights, or redact harmful taxation, you will have to look somewhat far and wide on these subjects.

This thing was started back in Nov. of 09 and we only have 472 people that have signed. We need to pass this to our friends and their friends as these 472 signatures just won't cut the mustard so to speak.

Agreed. Last year, I drafted and GRNC shephered the introduction of HB 270 (http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/gascripts/BillLookUp/BillLookUp.pl?Session=2009&BillID=h270&submitButton=Go) sponsored by Reps. Hilton, Steen, Burr and Cleveland.

Unfortunately, the Dems denied it a committee hearing, killing it. We will continue to introduce the bill, but here is what must be done: The NC General Assembly must be subjected to large changes in power. Thanks to the implosion of the Republican Party, the GA is firmly under the control of liberal Dems. What we do in November will make all the difference.

GRNC has the capability to reach 180,000 gun-owning voters in the 2010 election. But we will need your help -- help provided by willingness to distribute voter guides, willingness to work polls and help get the word out, and yes, willingness to donate money to the cause. In 2008, we distributed 100,000 voter guides, including 70,000 mailed directly to gun owners. That cost us nearly $30,000. Will you help us reach 180,000?

I like the idea. Because the only place you can carry your gun is in your car and at home!!
