THe perfect Gun!

I did not see that anyone has posted the correct answer to your question...

The correct answer is....(drum roll)

A Sig Sauer.
They will be your best bet because they are the best gun. go hold a few see what fits your hand/situational caliber.

Please keep in mind any Sig bashing beyond this point should be viewed as pure jealousy.

Thanks,

Brian

It will most likely look like this:

Yep, that's it! This is really my first gun, so I decided to take a lower caliber ACP, they did have a 40 and 45, but the ammo was more expensive. maybe later on down the road when I save some more money, I will get a better gun, but for now, this will be my "training" gun. Next up, I'm gonna pop my OC Cherry!

I was speaking mostly of simplicity. No safety to turn off before firing. I wasn't comfortable mentioning other brands just because I'm not sure of all that don't have a manual safety. I know the Smith & Wesson M&P but thats about it.

No Safety in the Sig design, I have always loved the DA/SA action where the safety is your finger and your brain.

Perhaps you didn't read my post, I clearly was the first to suggest a Sig. And the new P250 is priced well for new buyers in the $480 range. The P250 is available in sub and compact as well as full size. It is available in .9mm, .40, .357sig, .45

I like glocks, but I do not like their trigger. I have witnessed glocks FTE on 2 occasions. I have never seen a Sig fail.

Whenever we schedule range meets a certain "somone" doesn't show up...;)

Snappy

Double ouch! That was only the one time anyway.

Tanner, that's a nice little brick you got there. Hope you enjoy it and stay safe.
If I didn't have so many holsters, mags, and accessories for my XD, I'd go for the Sig.

I bought my Hi-Point 9mm for around $130 new. I love everything about the gun exept the mag capacity and the wieght. Didnt much care for it giving me the right sided gang banger saggin look. But it shoots great everytime, and I have never had a misfire in it.

Thats a good point, what other gun has enough weight in it so that if you run out of ammo, you can throw it at someone and knock em out and not care if you lose it cause it's so cheap. :p

Man, and I thought I was impatient about buying new things. I think you'll do just fine with the Hi-Point 380 for a very first gun, but next time SLOW DOWN a bit! This isn't like deciding on what flavor of chips you buy at the grocery store for the night. If you're in a hurry and you buy the wrong flavor, it's not that big of a deal. But guns are usually a more permanent purchase (as in you can't return it and you don't buy one every couple of days). Not to mention you want to actually know that you are getting a good gun and that it works for you when you shoot the rental at a range. Live and learn though eh? Now go out and shoot it a ton before you start carrying it around, you want to make sure what you carry is reliable enough to depend on (that goes for ANY brand).

Ammo is just as important, I have some brown bear in a green box, and about 1 out of every 10 is a dud. Buy quality.

The problem is you have to be this guy:

To be able to even TRY and throw it....

He has helped his state to adapt, since there are so many limp wristed and weak people, they mandate you lighten the gun for better throwing distance by removing the magizine. :dude:

yea the trigger is weird but not to bad since your pulling the firing pin back when you pull the trigger
i have seen the glock fte when my lil cuz whos 10 shot it just because his wrist wasnt strong to hold it
To each his own i just like the glock more then a sig and i like the xd more then the sig

Hey everyone, just thought I'd let ya know that today I am going to get my first handgun ever. In all honesty, this would be the first firearm I would ever own, so I am kinda nervous and excited at the same time. While we are on the subject of new handguns, anybody got some good recommendations on what to get?

Pretty much what everyone has said..go to a firing range, find one that you like, fits your hands well..go with that.
