See I new there was going to be a debate.
Just a friendly conversation.

It doesn't bother me if someone wants to inform an officer that they are armed. But if you think that it is helpful to do so, it is probably more helpful to be more direct than simply presenting your CPL. If you feel the need to inform an officer that you are armed, just say so in a friendly and calm manner.

What you don't shout "I got guns Copper!!!!!!"

I know it is a freindly conversation/debate but the freindly conversation/debate comes up everytime someone mentions these points.

I personally don't feel the LA (Law Agencies) have any authority to demand anything of me unless the situation warrants it. Heres a good article on not bringing up the gun issue.

FWIW, I seem to recall that the speeding ticket I received indicated somewhere on it that I had a CPL. This means that the LEO had a means to check, based on my drivers license. The point is, the officer can discover whether you've been issued a CPL, so there's probably not much point in supplying it if you're not asked to.
Yes, if I am driving my car and s/he checks the plate, info on the registered owner having a CPL should come back.

Once I hand the LEO my driver's license, and they call it in or enter it on his/her computer, the fact that the holder of the license has a CPL should also come back.

HOWEVER if s/he didn't check the plate or license yet, there is that window where the only way they would know is if I told them or if they discover it by seeing or feeling it.
I don't believe this is what happens with respect to plate and driver license checks. This at least implies that the CPL info comes back "automatically." While that info is available to LE, it is not an integral part of the data record associated with either registered owner info or driver licenses.

LEOs would have to specifically ask for CPL info if they wanted it, and as far as I know, this is not part of the routine traffic stop procedure.

Not exactly true. More and more departments are moving towards multiple DB queries when they run a name, DL, or Veh. Lic. There are still some that need to make multiple queries to get the same amount of info that other departments make a single query for.

Oh goodie. I think I have some overdue library books too. Maybe that info, and who-knows-what-else, will one day "come back" when my license is run.

Regards to Mr. Orwell
