Monday night went to red robin in Summerlin for the wife's birthday. It was surprisingly crowded, some people noticed for sure, but not a word.

Last night the family and I went to Red Robin off of Centennial. No problems but tons of looks.

After spending a bunch of money at Wild West Guns, I went with the owner and another regular for lunch to Mr. Moma's diner on Decatur/Russell, next door to McFaddendale's Hardware. After we were seated, the waitress comes by and says: "Okay, everyone, hands up!"

I didn't say anything, but I was sure thinking: "Great, another one who thinks they're funny..."

Then, she goes on to tell us we had just sat down at a table that hadn't been cleaned yet, and she starts wiping it as we all, you guessed it, put our hands up off the table out of her way...

I'm glad I usually don't say anything...

Went down to town square last night for a going away party so I left my gun in my trunk. After the party I walked back out to my car and went to retrieve my gun. There were 3 guys walking towards me (nicely dressed, probably going to blue martini) as I was unlocking my trunk. I put on my holster first and right as they were passing me I took out my gun and slid it in my holster. At that moment I heard the guy closest to me let out a "Woah" or something to that effect. He must not have thought I was threatening (which is good) because they continued to walk calmly as I got in my car and walked away.

Ren Faire actually went very well. I had an extremely productive contact with Sgt. Stockwell. Video will be posted when I get around to cleaning it up and captioning it.

We stayed for about 4 hours, made several good contacts, and really enjoyed it. I mean, they have live jousting, FFS! (Yes, my first time)

Cowboy Action Shoot

Went to the CAS at the BC range Saturday. The kids had a good time watching all the Cowboys and Cowgirls going through their paces. If you have not attended one you should. Of course it is at a gun range so everyone has their shootin' iron strapped on. ( To you auto folks, that means generally single action revolvers ). They shoot revolvers, lever action rifles and shotguns all in period dress of course.

Hey TBG, next time something like this is coming up, announce it here. The boys would get a big kick out of that.

The Cowboy match is at the Boulder club every first Sunday of the month (and its preceding Saturday.)

I did Cowboy Shooting many years ago, before the targets started getting bigger and closer and it became nothing but a speed race. Literally, you cannot miss, and the guy that spends the most money on an action job and the most time practicing how to work it quickly is the guy that wins. You can't miss, and all the fun is gone from the sport now.

Before we started our shooting park boycott I went to one there. My first time. Showed up with my SA revolvers and lever gun borrowed a shotgun. Shot 2 clean stages. Because they were like 3 feet in front of me. So true Mac. The longest shot was the bonus shot at 35 feet with the lever gun.

The kids don't know one target from another. they still had fun watching all the Cowboys and girls shoot in their western attire.

Where did you carry today and how did it go?

Harbor Freight Tools on Sunset, Auto Zone on Sunset, Home Depot on Marks.

Had assistance in all three and no issues or strange behavior from employees - in fact at Auto Zone the guy took me in back to where they cut hoses by the foot with no weird glances or behavior.

Going into Harbor Freight I held the door for a couple - the guy says, "nice piece"...no other reactions.

Also was in the Galleria Mall for about ten minutes to find and pick up my wife...I did notice glances there but that's about it.

Summerlin Home Depot: Lots of attention, but once I told the guy, "Don't mean to be rude, but I really am fine and don't need any help" I was left alone.

Centennial Hills Lowes: Cashier asked if I was a cop. I get that alot even if I'm not oc. Told him no and explained to him his oc right.

Centennial Hills Blockbuster: Noticed, but nothing said.

Centennial Hills Albertsons: Uneventful.

N. Durango / Elkhorn Chase Bank: Noticed, but nothing said. One of the few banks without bulletproof glass, btw.

N. Durango / Farm Mcds: Uneventful.

County Property

FWIW, a follow up to my friend that owns Cactus Aviation Flight School at Henderson Airport:

He told his employees that if ANY of them have a personal problem with people carrying lawfully that they may wish to seek employment elsewhere because his establishment is now definitely oc friendly. He and some of the other instructors now oc regularly.

His is the ONLY flight school in the terminal. Kind of a big deal since the terminal is county property.

Yesterday, CVS pharmacy near my house (frequent OC), pharmacist said, "Someone will be right with you, ma'am." But my gender is male. Today, Starbucks, they misheard my name as Carol. Guns don't make you macho!
