Greetings everyone,
I just move here (Post Falls ID) from Washington State. After spending 12 years over there I became very familiar with WA open carry and concealed laws. (Did both)... I'm planning to get my Idaho drivers license and register my vehicle next week... In the mean time what is the deal for carrying (either open or conceal) with a WA drivers license and WA CPL? (That's all that I have for documentation at this point)... any feedback will be appreciated

Open carry requires no permit even in a vehicle, concealed carry requires no permit except within city limits if you are not a citizen of Idaho. Idaho recognizes all permits from any state or judicial court. A good resource is http://www.handgunlaw.us/ On the main page click on Idaho (the map) and it will give you most of the information you will need to know. Idaho is not as restrictive as Washington, for example, you can drink in a tavern/bar while open carrying even to the point of extreme intoxication, but don't do it concealed, only open carry when getting drunk.

I would suggest you join the Idaho Second Amendment Alliance since you will become an Idaho citizen. The ISAA is for gun rights and protections for gun owners in Idaho, they focus just on Idaho gun rights.

Nice. We wanted to go further north but still had to stay somewhat close to CDA for jobs, so we settled outside of Spirit Lake.
