Doug,

I know what you mean about the Town's Association agenda.

I sit on the Plan Commission of my town and it is amazing how quickly elected and appointed officials can forget who they represent. They go from representing the people to representing the town government in about 3 minutes. That's about how long it takes to swear them in.

I'm just amazed a decision can be formulated in a political environment in that amount of time. Is the tablecloth covered with paper currency?

Be careful using "the people". The people are the demos in democracy that is the rule of fools by fools. In English demos is d'masses, in Latin demos is vulgar and in French it is common.

The demos are the same ones that we damn as being gun-grabbers. Joe six-pack is equally likely to be a gun-grabber as not, especially if his wife has complete control of his jolly green giant (a ball in each hand).

And which wife doesn't claim to have that? I can name a few, the keyword is FEW.

And as I've found out form my friends, there are a lot of big talkers out there who speak a good speah but who don't follow through with actions, instead just bowing blindly to the new almighty one.
