My wife, son, Dad, Mom and I went to the Hearty Platter in Tomah for some supper. I open carried and after about 26 minutes, one of the waitresses asked me if I was a police officer. I said no. She asked why I had a gun, I said protection. She said I need to take it out. I said OK, can I take my plate to my table and then take it out. She said yes. I took it out to the Jeep. After I came back in I talked to the manager, and informed her about the law regarding open carry and gave her a pamphlet. Thanks to who ever made up those Wisconsin Open Carry pamphlets. She said she would call KW corporate for some guidance. As we were leaving the manager told me she had called the police and the police said it is OK for me to be there with a holstered gun. She was waiting for a call from KW corporate for an answer. I want to contact KW myself to find out what the company policy is. Does anyone else open carry in Tomah on a regular basis? I try to make a habit of carrying everyday I can. Every one I talk to says they have never heard of such a thing. And thanks to the guy that said start the audio recorder as soon as the gun goes into the holster. Of course I record a bunch of crap that I don't need to but when the when the waitress came over to talk to me I had my plate in one hand and a pair of tongs in the other. Slowly but surely I will get everyone in Tomah educated. We will be stationed here for long time.
