Madhatter, yah they are. Will go clean through a 4x4 if you're not careful.

An update of sorts. The Everett Herald had an article this AM telling about how this deceased burglar had just pleaded guilty to car theft in December and fined. Just think, if he was in jail he would still be alive. Maybe the family will now sue the County for not punishing him enough and claim they contributed to his wrongful death. All they need to do is find the right Lawyer.

Hm now THAT would be an interesting take on the whole "wrongful death lawsuit post SD shooting" scenario... It's not that the county wasn't "punishing" him enough, they released someone who was clearly an imminent danger to themselves and others...

Ok, I am normally not one to say anything here... but come on... People make mistakes, yes... But a mistake is forgetting to feed the dog (borderline though), leaving your phone at work, leaving the lights on in your car. Breaking into someones house is NOT A MISTAKE! Its a willful act. I hear this tossed around way too often, like the guy in Silverdale in 2009 that was high on meth, loading a gun and tried to shoot a cop. He was killed in the encounter. That was NOT A MISTAKE, it was a willful act of violence. Stop making excuses for people that do things like this. You do not do them any favors, or any favors to the innocent homeowner that had to defend himself and take a human life. Imagine that feeling, and then think about the choices that your friend made to put the homeowner in that situation. Your fiend made a decision, and he and everyone around him will have to deal with that, WITHOUT EXCUSES.

True story! Thank you!!! No excuse for that kind of behavior.

News reported tonight that Johnny had a serious drug problem and was holding a hammer when the home owner shot him five times.
I can see the civil suit coming, his mom commented on news "why home owner shoot him five times". The home owner reportly has a attorney and the investigation may take months, really?

It is always sad when some one gets killed. But no one made Johnny break into that home with a hammer. That is on him.
That should be the end of it.

Yes. It really and truly should be the end of it. I mean, what more could be learned by more investigating? All of the information you need to know was known that night. See the guy laying there, listen to what the home owner (victim) says what happened, cop says (Okay. Good enough. We'll bury him in boot hill or give him to his family to take care of. You'll hear no more about this.) That should be the scenario.

But if you make it that simple how could they justify all the money for technicians and equipment for the "CSI's"?
