I had a lengthy conversation with state rep Nickie Monica concerning his proposed "no guns on motorcycles" bill. During the conversation I actually read, word for word, article 1 sec 11 to him. More than likely, he'd never seen it prior to our talk. Well, today (Tuesday the 13th) it appears he's taken my suggestion and withdrew his bill. Not sure how many others took the time to call him, but at least he was honorable enough to do the right thing, in spite of some idiot deputy friend of his who requested this bill.

A deputy friend of state rep Nickie Monica didn't like the idea of stopping motorcyclists who were armed. When I told Monica that it was perfectly legal and GUARANTEED BY THE STATE CONSTITUTION to openly carry, he didn't seem to know what to say. I then further explained if the cyclist were carrying concealed and had a CCW permit, THAT, too, was legal. If the cyclist was carrying concealed WITHOUT a permit, there's already a law for that. Then I turned the tables on HIM. I told him both he AND the deputy swore an oath to uphold and defend the state constitution and they BOTH were violating their oaths. THAT got his attention. I asked who do I need to contact to report THEM.
Government, gotta love it.

Got an email confirmation from rep Nickie Monica's office today confirming this ridiculous, ludicrous proposed "law" has been withdrawn by it's author.
I am still checking into just what can be done to an elected official who swears an oath to uphold and defend the constitution, and turns right around and authors something this absurd.
