Dollar tree

OC'd at just about every Dollar Tree in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake without incident. Talented wife was buying up A LOT of placemats which she turns into purses with add on outer covers (think michie bags). She even made this one a CC purse for daughter with steel cable in the strap and built in firearm pouch with vinyl lining to prevent printing/items in purse from catching trigger. Purse itself is on left. Snowman on right is cover that can be velcro'ed over the outer bag to match the season. Like I said....Talented!

It is a wise man that gives credit, all honor and glory.

I once told mine that she was one of the smartest women on this earth........she picked me.

To which she quiped, "I'd better be the only woman in that line."

picked up some take out at olive garden lynnhaven and the girl giving us our food looked really nervous even though another customer and i were joking around about getting each others orders mixed up. the jokes did not in any way mention firearms. just our names and food

A very creepy guy invaded my personal space at Walmart today. I was shopping for iPad cases when he came up really close on my strong side and leaned in. "What ya got there?" I immediately braced my gun with my forearm. "Um iPad cases?" He leaned in again and asked the same question while looking directly at my gun. I took 3 steps back towards my wife and told him it was a s&w 9mm. I grabbed the case I wanted and went to the checkout. Guy just walked away. It was strange to say the least

First Negative encounter in over a year of OC'ing

Was in a Wawa the other day with the misses getting some beverages when a late 40's-50's lady out of the blue from about 2 feet away says "ohh, big man with his gun". After a 1/2 sec pause, I replied "Merry Christmas Maam" and received a "F You" in response. I walked away without another comment as it was obvious (from descriptions of similar incidents here on the forum) that she had her preconceived bias and NOTHING I could say would change her mind, so I stuck to the high road and went about my business.

Good choice + you left her having to wipe the feces from her own no class, potty mouth.

...a female perhaps, but no lady.

I'm impressed with your handling of it.

not criticizing WEARICK, I really do think you did the right thing, she either thinks she did some thing heroic
are get mad cause she couldn't get your goat

I, if I have time, will pull the physiologist thing of asking her question. "Why do you feel that way" and "Now how does that make you feel". I usually do this till i get the Fyou. sometimes it doesn't take long

Buffalo Wild Wing in Chesapeake

I don't post much, because you guys usually go to the same places I do. I have been reading lately that BWW in Chesapeake had removed their signs, so I decided to check it out. Went in OC, got seated, no issues. A friend met us there and said "I thought you couldn't carry here?", I replied, "They took the signs down." She says "It says no guns on the door." We finished our meal with no issues. As I was leaving, I looked at the door. Sure enough, it says in white letters "By order of BWW Inc., no firearms allowed on the premises." (not exact wording but this is the general message) I had been looking for the gunbuster red circle and slash, which was there before (and why I stopped going). I do not violate anti-gun policies. If they don't respect my right to safety, they don't get my money. I also do not violate policies, just to see if someone says something. I just avoid the posted places. I just wanted to let everyone know, they HAVE NOT changed their policy, just changed the sign. If I get by there again, I'll take a pic.

I know people have posted they have seen others there open carrying, and that is the only reason I went in. Maybe the Chesapeake location doesn't agree with corporate policy. My server saw my gun, and we actually had a good conversation about being prepared. She seemed happy that someone there was armed, just in case something happened. I made a couple trips to the restrooms with my kids and passed a manager and several other servers, nothing was said. Maybe I was just lucky, that nobody said anything. I feel like an idiot because I didn't see the writing on the door.

Good to know that about that BWW. Either they just put that sign up or I missed it entirely multiple times visiting there. Both seem equally as likely. I'll keep a better eye out from now on, and won't be returning there. Thanks for the heads up!

As promised, OC lunch has been arranged for January 24th at 1:00 pm, at the Newport News location of Thai Papaya restaurant. It is in the Home Depot shopping center next to Michaels craft store.

Come on down and enjoy!

Very cool! Thanks!

And thanks for posting here. I've missed a couple of events because they're posted in that weird subfolder that I never remember is there.

Nice timing Blue. Yes, please let me know if/how many. Use the thread in the VA Events sub forum.

Dr Mark: yeah, I figured I would just post the announcement here to get more eyes on it and to direct everyone to the other thread. Don't wanna clutter up this one too much.

Grapeshot, if you happen to see this, could you edit the title of the other post to include the date? Oops on my part. Thanx!
