It would also be their last term in office. Our concealed carry law is enormously popular in this state. Without it we lose reciprocity and the gun owners won't stand for that. The vast majority of gun owner's affection for the Constitution won't extend that far.
In your little sphere perhaps.
Almost everyone I know carrys and always have. And I know alot of folks.
Most of them were for the cc law KC3 pushed for until all the new restrictions came with it. Then not so much.
Repeal of the cc law in ky , now that the state is for the most part honoring the 2A , would be popular as the regulations that are attached to cc would have to go also.
Many also know that had a bit of patience been used instead of kc3s headlong rush to hide their guns, we would have had in another few years what we have now. No permit needed and none of the illegal carry restrictions that came with the permit law.
Any reciprocity needed is easily accomplished by getting a permit in another state .
The legislature had no authority to create a permit scheme in ky in the first place. The ky constitution only granted it authority to prevent cc. That's it and that's all.
Not create permits , charge fees or create carry restrictions.
The 2A doesn't allow a state to regulate weapons at all.
A move to get rid of the illegal permit scheme would be rather popular with the armed citizenry IMO based on the people I know and correspond with.
