Use phrases like "If you don't follow the law, how can you claim to enforce the law?" and "If YOU get to decide which laws to obey, why shouldn't everybody else?"

Also, notices like, "Violate our clearly established, constitutionally protected 2nd amendment rights and lose your qualified immunity." might have an impact, as well.

LOL! Add that kind of stuff. Probably good to mix up the verbiage a little so they don't think it's one person with mulitple accounts, but we have to hold their feet to the fire on this one. I say ask Metro's PIO for an answer on what they're doing.

But not the one permitting the victims of violent crimes on campus to defend themselves.

And not the one giving Nevadans the ability to CCW without bureaucrat permission.

So excuse me if I don't find a lot to cheer about in the City and County of North Los Angeles being told to follow laws passed long ago. This is the equivalent of seeing your car destroyed by the guy who stole it, but at least you still have a fob for the car alarm.

Not to mention the DV situation. It now is a reality that The misdemeanor crime that is quite often unprovable... will cost you not only your right to bear arms, but the loss of your right comes without the right to a jury trial. as Guaranteed in the Nevada constitution lol... Really? We are stoked about trading basic rights for bureaucratic "favors?" Not trying to rain on the parade, but I see the noose tightening.

I brought this up a few times when I was a member of the so called rights group. That we already had 2007 preemption. I was told by the leader out of one side of his mouth that we needed teeth to it, and then out of the other side of his mouth how great the 2007 bill already was.

We gained little to nothing is true.

And now that we are seeing the lies coming from the jack boots at metro about them not following the law, I dont see turner and the coalition stepping up to set them straight.

Here is the latest I have from Metro. I'm still waiting on contact info.
The law that was passed essentially orders that registration ends but it won't be official until the County Commission repeals the ordinance. The county has until October 2nd to repeal the ordinance. That is the best answer that can be provided at this time.

Also just talked to Assem. Fiores Asst Cindy. Explained to her what is going on and she was frankly shocked. She said that Ms Fiore would be getting back with me.

If SB175 & SB240 make all such ordinances null and void effective immediately, what would it matter if they removed it in Oct. or even Dec. for matter. I didn't realize that the County Commission carried more weight than the Gov or the State Legislature. Effective immediately still means effective immediately or am I missing something here. Although I know I am not the sharpest tool in the drawer when it comes to legalese.

Waiting on an official reply from the firearms detail commander. Guess being a blogger journalist is starting to payoff?

You are a legitimate journalist. Maybe I'm too old, but "blogger" seems to detract from its importance. There is no minimum readership, government permission, or commercial endorsements required to be a legitimate journalist.

Well thank you, sir. Maybe 'legitimacy' in my mind comes from sole or major income from it. Yes, blogging is part of the new media and what has truly revolutionized Americans. What an interesting mix of education, journalism, activism, and good old fashioned writing I can do.

To me, a blogger is just a public diarist that shares his thoughts and experiences. A journalist investigates and comments on stories purposely for their value to his readership. One can be both, but Garrett is certainly the latter at least.

A lot of journalist's or so called journalist's are nothing more than paid mouth pieces for causes they believe in.

As we have seen in the anti firearm movement very few "journalist" do any investigating or fact checking.

Ya'll are really making me feel awkward. I'm a modest guy! But thank you. Nobody reports this stuff and the masses don't find these forums. There are people who damage control on Facebook, but Nevada, Las Vegas in particular, needs truth.

The TV news doesn't do it. The newspapers occasionally do, but they don't. It's the alternative papers, the local 'rags', and us online guys who really do the investigation and the work. The world has shown that it's turning away from single-source news and accepting independent sources. They want truth, they want commentary, they want options.

I have the time (after 5:30, M-F, and weekends, lol) to pursue this stuff, analyze it, and the tenacity to follow through. If it wasn't for guys like us, who would be leading the charge? Metro might very well just wait until October. Maybe getting non-stop calls and comments has forced them to step it up a bit.

We'll see when we get a response (hopefully today, probably at the late Friday afternoon news dump). Today's Friday, right? I sure hope so... If not, on Monday we'll call for tar and feathers.

On Nevada Shooters, it has been reported that several gun shops received phone calls from Metro to stop registering and to stop waiting periods. I'd not be surprised if the state lawmakers' involvement made the difference.
