The picture is my everyday load, Para-Ordnance P-14 5" double stack 1911, 2 spare mags all loaded with Corbon DPX and my new CRKT M16-14ZSF, 30 year old Spyderco Endura and Surefire E2D LED Defender.

I carried the Spyderco as I said for ~30 years and keep it in the right front pocket for everyday use, you don't breakup a 30 year relationship over night.
The CRKT I bought because I can carry it hinge down in the left front and the "speed flipper" studs on the blade can be used to open on drawing, faster than any switchblade, and is not used for casual work to keep it scaple sharp.
I usually wear 5.11 cargo pants and the Surefire is in the left Mag pocket.

I am a 1911 fan myself, and two of the three guns I own are 1911s. My daily carry piece being a Kimber CDP II. My other being a Series 70 Colt Combat Commander, which stays at home due to it rusts too easily. Both of these are short barrel 1911s, one being 4.0 and the other 4.25. I am planning on adding a full-sized 1911 to my arsenal once I get my truck paid off, later this year. All of my holsters are open bottom designs, so will not need to buy another to make it work. Probably going to be another Kimber, but we'll just have to see when the time comes.

I carry my Springfield 1911 all the time. I use a Crossbreed SuperTuck IWB holster, whether I'm carrying open or concealed. It's a very comfortable holster. I have a Fobus, a Blackhawk cloth holster, and the one that came with the gun, but I like the CrossBreed much better. I'm not very big either, 5'11'', 215pounds.

I didn't know blackhawk made canvas holsters, though I own a few canvas holsters for around the yard. I don't care for them much while out and about town.

I agree about the CrossBreed, most comfortable holster I own. Even carrying open, I still prefer it over a regular belt slide holster. With your belt holding the whole package tight to your side insied you pants, feels almost like you have nothing there at all. Very easy to forget you even have a gun on you with this holster, only holster I have that feels so good.

I carry a full size 1911 .45 Government model daily.

It goes with me everywhere either OC or CC...I have been a 1911 aficionado since 1980.

The only problem I have with my 1911 is the occasional person asking me, "Do you know your gun is fully cocked?" to which I have to reply with the usual speech about condition 1 carry etc. When I carry my 9mm, it's a double action with no hammer and therefore nobody asks anything. I carried my 1911 back when we had to conceal and even in an outside the waistband paddle holster (fobus) as long as the shirt was loose fitting, it wasn't very obvious and could have been a smartphone or flashlight for all anybody knew. My 1911 is a RIA with the Pachmayr American Legend rosewood grips and I LOVE that gun!! Accurate, smooth trigger, 8+1 mags and like all 1911's, it just feels "right" to me.

I recently bought a Colt 1991 series 1911, model O1091. still got it on layaway at sooner guns on mingo in Tulsa, ok. Sooner guns is a GREAT store, the guy recognizes me by face and is good to his customers. I have purchased a lot from him and will continue to do so. I cant wait to get it out and try it on, I still haven't decided on a holster. I am a smaller person so concealing guns is kind of tricky so I plan to opencarry.

I open carry a Springfield G.I.45 and a Glock 17. The springer is my number 1 followed by the glock. I bought the .45 and after 3000rds it is flawless. In the past i had bought numerous .45's and had problems with them. I got soured on them and went to 9mm. That was about 20years ago. Well a friend of mine has a gun store and had the .45 and for nostalgic reasons i picked it up and it felt so good. My friend said that is a low end .45
from springfield and it was as good as any out there? I told him i was through with them and i liked my G17.
Well, he talked me into buying it and i said i hope you are right because i will sell it in a heartbeat!!!!!! Well he was right and i am back! The springer is awsome and i my #1. I still carry the glock also. I know there are better higher end 45"s, but this one is my baby. Affordable and dependable!!!!!

I carry a Kimber Tactical Custom II with Crimson Trace grips for both OC and CC. I OC in one of three holsters, depending on the situation and I CC in a Galco Matrix OWB snap-on holster. I also OC in a Galco Silhouette belt holster. The first and my favorite is a custom made rig from The Boardwalk Saddlery in Laramie, WY.
