I received a letter from Kentucky Power, AEP, that offered me, for free no less, a new "Smart" thermostat.
What does this "Smart" thermostat do?
Well, it allows the Power Company the ability to control my Thermostat and shut off my Hot Water Heater for up to six hours at a time whenever they decide that there is an "event". An "event" is whenever they decide that we are using too much electricity.
All of this and they pay me less than a dollar a day per billing cycle!
Are they serious or do they think we are stupid?
