Well, I suppose it's a good thing I didn't buy any beer at Trader Joe's earlier (I walked out due to inept cashiers and generally sloppy line management).

Now I have an excuse to go to BevMo tomorrow.

Edit: One day I'll learn to proofread before I post.

I was just ribbing you Marshaul. Patron is good stuff.

Usually if I go to the bar with my brother we'll have Disaronno on the rocks or Centenario. Both are good with food, if you can find a restaurant that has those in their bar...

If you like creamy or malty dark beers, check out Spatten's variety at Bevmo...

Hmmm... Maybe we should do a UOC beertasting event!

Personally, I like the idea.

BTW, I wasn't the one who first brought up Patron. :p

I actually can't/don't drink any liquor any more. Too harsh on my stomach. :(

Marshaul, put your avatar back; you're confusing me!

Yes, Miller Lite. In general I don't care for mexican beers, especially Corona or Dos Equis. Besides, Patron is American tequila, I might as well have american beer to go with it!

Plus, the beer selection where we normally go is all plain-jane stuff :( My normal goto beers would be Newcastle, Sierra Nevada or a Sam Adams unless we move up to the truly premium stuff.

Um, there is no such thing as American Tequila.

Tequila, by definition, has to come fromspecific plant speciesAND places. The plant that is primarily used is the Blue Agave or Blue Maguey (though other agaves can be used to a smaller extent), and the place is the state of Jalisco, and parts of the state of Nayarit, both in Mexico.

There are other "Tequila-like" drinks made throughout Mexico (and even the US), but they aren't Tequila. They go by other names such as "Sotol," (made from adesert variety of the Maguey),or the more generic term "Mezcal," which is sometimes made from the same plants and in the same way as Tequila, but technically, isn't.

Think of it this way: Scotch is a type of whisky, and though there are plenty of American whiskies, there is no such thing as an American Scotch (or an English Bourbon for that matter). Same thing with Tequila. Tequilais a very specific type of Mezcal.

BTW, Patron is made in Mexico, just like allof the other world's Tequilas.

Ya, I understand all that perfectly, but unlike most Tequilas its an American company...and nie impossible to find anywhere in Mexico except maybe border towns.
