This was sent to all the students in CPCC February 22nd:
From Security & Emergency Management:
This afternoon, at approximately 2:45 p.m. a student was the victim of an
attempted robbery in Student Parking Deck 2 on Central Campus. The student
was not injured and was able to get away from the suspect, who fled on foot.
At 3 p.m., a suspect fitting the same description robbed a student in
Student Parking Deck 3. The suspect showed a handgun and took a book bag
from the student, who was not injured in the incident.
CMPD and College Security are now interviewing a man believed to be the
suspect in both incidents. Witnesses described the suspect as a tall white
male, wearing all black clothing.
Officers are investigating both incidents. Anyone with information is asked
to contact CrimeStoppers at 704.334.1600 or College Security at 704.330.6632.

For your additional safety, there are emergency “blue light” phones stationed throughout the main areas of campus, including the main quad and the parking decks. Please use these in the event of an emergency as well; once the handset is picked up, you will automatically be connected to CPCC’s Security team.
Please utilize these security resources any time you need assistance and remember to stay alert to your surroundings; walk with a friend, if possible; and educate yourself on prevention tactics.

I feel REALLY safe knowing that I can have an officer escort me to my vehicle. Too bad I cant protect myself..........BTW, they have not let us know that the guy has been captured..........
