Huh!?!?! The politicians threaten us with their monopoly: force and violence. Many in society threaten each other with force and violence--Dems vs Repubs vs Commies vs Greens vs... Banditry and thuggery institutionalized.

And, we should be respectful because it is the rational and civil way to go about discoursing?

Hah!

(Hunt up what the Founders said about each other. Oooooo. Oww. Our discourse is practically a ladies garden club social afternoon by comparison.)

Lol, I hear you. I think it's important to at least try. If they're not willing to listen, whether because they either just don't get it or because they think we don't, it's ok to use more emphatic language, and I've certainly written my share of pointed letters to Congress. I usually get a personal reply, too!

The Myth Busters (Tom & Jerry) are buffoons. No one should believe anything they say re: something is doable or not. The kids they added to their cast (who also "prove" or "disprove" so-called "myths") are even less believable. It's like getting your history lessons from BS/revisionist/PC Hollywood.

The show is just for entertainment...

I just watch it to see Kari :)

As far as being civil and calm or being a loud mouth this video. The one being questioned stands his ground. He is firm but remains respectful. His frien though is the kind of (IMO) AH that escalates things and causes an arrest where there would not have been one. He runs around like a spoiled little 5th grade brat. He waves his hand in front of the one officers face and seems as though he is trying to stir the crowd up. That's my take on it though. It is 1 minute 30 seconds into the tape before someone comes along with a video camera but the audio is there at the start of the stop (so to speak).

FAIRLY. Yeh, I like Penn and Teller.

Lol, yes, one's a pompous ass and the other one is quiet as a mouse, but I think both share a backstage brilliance for knowing what few on the left have ever figured out for themselves.

It's entertainment, but good entertainment. And funny!

I'd love to meet them one of these days. Don't know what I'd say. Probably "thank you for caring enough to put your reps on the line while saying a few things that really matter in this world."

I think most of us here on this forum have done the same, so we get it.

"Representative Republics, of which The United States is, are formed on the premise that the people elect persons to represent and discharge their wishes in the various organs of government. That we continue to send people to Congress and The White House who fail to discharge our demands in the form and fashion we desire is no fault but ours.

There are, in fact, candidates besides Democrats and Republicans on the ballot. In most states you can also write in a candidate. That you believe no candidate other than a "D" or "R" can win does not make it so. It simply means that you, along with your other countrymen and women, are willing to vote for and elect the person who holds the office, irrespective of the fact that they did not do as you directed, or as they promised.

In short, you are free, as a citizen, to be a masochist. We are, in fact today, a nation of masochists."

lol

This is why we really do need run-off elections where you can honestly vote for the person you want without fearing you're throwing your vote away. If there are six candidates in the first go through the two with the most votes go on to the final run-off election. That way I can vote libertarian and then vote for the RINO when he loses. After a few, maybe just one, election cycle politicians will see where the people actually stand and adjust themselves accordingly if they want to survive the next cycle.

I'm all stocked up on high cap mags. Not for resale gouging of course.

I'm not terribly worried this bill will pass. Although it's an affront to the Constitution and our civil liberties that this kind of crap even gets introduced, I'm more concerned with rising prices over speculation than anything else.
