The OC meet & greet events seem to be falling on the weekends that I have my little boys, so I will just have to bring them with me. I can't promise they will have much patience for me to stay long but I'll stop by to meet everyone and say "howdy".

While I'm not the best with kids, I think that might be a good idea, not for the least reason because we get to meet you and say hello. Open Carrying is new to a lot of people, and I think it humanizes the concept when people see that its something that everyday people do. College students, businessmen, parents and workers. All walks of life and types of people. Granted, this is about us, and not an event to advertise, but I'd be a fool not to realize the public image.

That said, kids or no, I'm sure we'd all be happy to have you drop by in whatever fashion you can manage.

I am really looking forward to this. it might be the only one I get to attend for awhile though. I have a job interview with a company in Charleston SC and its looking pretty promising. Guess i will have to be one of the ones that comes up just to OC :D

Just happened to stop in, never do, and saw this thread. Count me in. I live in Greenville SC but keep residency in NC, particularly South Charlotte, for the gun stores and my concealed permit. Due to the area and the patrons that frequent that GC (my favorite GC by BTW) you might want to give the management a heads up with the relatively large turn out this is growing in to. They have a section that they can reserve for the meet also. Not the private room. It is an open area that is by the dessert bar.

Excellent gun store a mile from the Golden Corral on South Blvd., Carolina Sporting Arms.

Thanks, I most definitely will. My initical interview went well, I have a second one in about 20 minutes :p I'm really looking forward to the 4th and meeting you guys. I have been OCing every day since I bought my holster about a month ago. I have had absolutely no issues or questions, a few looks here and there though. My father will still be living here for at least another year or two, so I'm sure I'll be back up this way frequently.

Well, take me off the list, we're not going to make it due to the trip not being in the budget anymore.

PistolPackingMomma and I are hoping we can make it to one of these meets before we move to Arizona, so we can put some faces to some names here on OCDO.

Sorry to hear that carsontech. I almost had to cancel for the same reason. But I figured since I'm pulling this one together, I should show up lol. Sucks that you won't be there, but I can definitely understand. This is a tight time of the year for most of us.

JDriver, that's great. If anybody mentions wanting to come, can you let me know? That way I've got an idea of how many seats to have set aside for us all.

Yep, I'll keep you informed.

Appreciate it. We've lost a few people, including LCK, but hopefully we'll still have a good turnout. That being said, me being there will depend on the weather. I'm on a bike, and the chance of rain mid-day keeps increasing on Saturday.. So we'll have to see what the weather looks like come Sat. Hopefully it'll stay clear atleast until we're done. I don't mind hitting the rain coming back, because I can get outta the wet clothes. But sitting in a restaurant for a couple of hours completely soaked through.. we'll see lol.

As ArmySoldied22 noted, I will not be able to make the meet. I have been in the hospital at Carolina's Medical Center for the past two weeks and am told that I won't be released no matter how much I protest untill next week. That being said I would like to advise anyone looking for a heart transplant to steer clear of this place. These cardiologists on the heart failure/transplant team act as if they don't actually give two craps about me. Every time I speak up about the way I am being treated I am told I am being uncooperative and therefore lessening my chances of being put on the transplant list. They act as if I should be seen and not heard. I feel that the only rights I have in this place are Miranda rights. There seems to be nobody here that has any authourity to keep them in check. I will probably be making the drive to Duke or somewhere else in the region for the rest of my treatment. sorry for the rant. I just had to get that off my chest.

Uhhh, dude. If they are using the heart transplant list in order to make you accept less than optimal conditions, I suggest you give a call to your lawyer, and do it where they can see and hear you. Just ask him, loudly, if that's something that they are allowed to do, and if you should mention it to the hospital's owner. I guarantee they will perk up pretty damned quick.

I would keep a diary or journal of what is happening, how you are being treated, how they are talking to you and what they are saying. Include dates and times, as much as possible.

Contact the hospital's Ombudsman or Patient Care Representative (whatever title they give that person) and show them (but do not give them) the journal.

You are a patient, first, and a customer, second. On both counts, you deserve better.

Thanks for the advice. I will be typing a transcript of all events, but I have something better than a written diary of events. My cell phone has the capacity of recording almost two weeks of audio at once and since I have my laptop here I can download the files to my hard drive and clear the phone memory that has been recording 24/7 since I got here. I will have no problem proving anything I claim is 100% truthful and accurate. Thank GOD North Carolina is a one party consent state.

Act quickly and stick to your guns, partner!

Most of all, get well soon!
