Pine trees (a soft wood) are all conifers - needle or scaly "leaves" and contain their seeds within cones.

Cocobolo/rosewoods are a completely different classification and are hardwoods.

It was meant to illustrate that general descriptions can and usually do, contain a lot of different species.

It's pine
It's Oak

Lignumvitae (ironwood), frequently referred to as "lignum", is said to be the heaviest and densest of woods. Lignum, which will not float on water, has been used as a bearing surface on ship propeller shafts.

Actually, every state has it's own version of Ironwood. In virginia it's Hornbeam. Out west, Desert Ironwood, Etc.

Most people think it gets it's name from a local wood used to make cogs for early machinery. I'm sure that's true in some areas but here, Boxwood was the preferred machine wood.

I'm getting my edumacation enhanced today. :D

Apparently "Desert Ironwood" is a generic term also.

"The name "ironwood" is used for so many different species around the world that I don't even want to bother trying to list them all or figure out which ones might be applied to the wood harvested in the Southwest of the USA."

"True desert ironwood, Olneya tesotais, is almost unbelievably hard for a wood. It is brittle and cracks easily and that combined with the very small size of the tree all mitigate strongly against any veneer production from the species. It will not float, is VERY hard to work with hand tools (pretty much impossible) but takes a fabulous finish when worked carefully and slowly with very sharp power tools."

There is a variant of the CZ-75 like I described. Here's a pic:

But YE GODS! this went off topic,LOL. After a bit of accidental research, I believe the weapon in question is the CZ 75 P-01 variant.

Grip screws in wrong place for that iirc. Also backstrap too arched. And not double stack?

By George I think I've got it - the picture with red back ground and the Peter Nap's picture are representative of the same model.

Enlarged the pictures, read the slide and goggled it - its a CZ 40B - they match in all regards the visible indicators. The CZ 40B began life a few years ago as a joint venture between Colt and CZ to help Colt get its foot back into the police firearms market. It is NOT a variant of other CZs.
