The cop should have known the laws that he is supposed to be enforcing. That's part of his job.

Other than that, I didn't have a problem with him. Yeah, they took possession of the weapons temporarily for officer safety. Any cop would do that. They don't turn their backs on armed individuals (no matter how law abiding they may seem). That's not a 4A violation, its standard procedure. They gave it back at the end of the encounter.

I thought the cop was a little rude at the beginning, and the fact that he wanted to argue about whether or not someone had a CCW when it was IN HIS HAND is less than impressive. Other than that he conducted himself politely and as a professional.

Props to him for actually checking the law before deciding to start cuffing people, and props to him for actually manning up and apologizing, and for spreading the word to his fellow officers.
