Having lived in ILfor many years, still having friends/family living in IL and scuba diving with and getting to know several ILSP over the years, I can totally believe this story. Could it be total BS? Sure! If it were in a lot of other places, my BS meter would be bouncing, but in IL, especially northern IL, this sounds totally possible.

10$ says they'll get a conviction - based on a false report by the officers.

Exactly!! Unless he or someone else have video to collaborate his story it's his word "a second class person"
against two "holier then thou" cops...guess who the courts are going to believe!?

The stop and search was unlawful. He had no duty to stay there. The ensuing arrest was unlawful. The charges were trumped up, as is always the case with scumbag cops who think they are the law. The thugs will lie through their teeth, of course, but with competent counsel, this case can be defeated in court and charges filed against the cops and their department and town in civil court. I'm curious where this took place, as well. There is also the matter of theft of his belongings. That is a criminal event.

I think the story is made up. He gave no name of the town/city , why ? Sure if it were to have happened , he would need to keep a tight lip but could still name the city it happened in and won't even do that.

It wouldn't be the first time for someone to make up a BS story to make their life seem more interesting , it won't be the last either. JMHO!

It is possible that this is a made up story, however, the fact that the person who started it has decided not to release any info on it is not proof that it is made up. It is possible that the gentleman is simply following the sage advice I have also seen given here, and not discussing the details. True he has already told many details in his original post, but that doesn't mean he has to provide all, just to satisfy our curiosity.

We have a similar situation in one of the State sub forums right now, and while in this case the OP has stated what city, I have yet to see any cites or confirming data posted there either. I am not questioning his story, just asking that we would offer the same consideration to the OP in this thread.

Well, I am the OP of this thread, however I am not the the OP of the thread over on mp-pistol.com. Other than forum membership I have no other relationship to the OP. I'm mentioning this just in case anyone is confused about it.

I was referring to the OP of the thread on mp-pistol.com thread, I hope I did not confuse anyone. I am also in no way trying to imply anyone here is being overly judgmental. I was only trying to point out that we should not jump to any conclusions one way or the other.

Wow. It's stuff like this that makes the high percentage of good cops look bad. I hope the department and those officers get sued.

I skimmed the stories at the links.

As warm as they sound, not one included a story of a cop who prevented another cop from violating someone's rights. Not one included a cop who published an essay in a professional journal decrying the Blue Wall of Silence. Not one included a cop outing another cop for lying on the witness stand.

Lets keep it apples-to-apples shall we. Nobody is complaining no cops help changing tires or rescuing kittens. Its the rights violations that need solution.

This one isn't going to talk either.

I'm sure that many members of the SS were kind to animals...Maybe we can start a PR website for them. After all, we need to be politically correct at all times. One or two bad apples at Treblinka shouldn't paint the whole profession, per forum bylaws...

Would seem more honest and responsible to follow the intent of OCDO in exchange for the privilege of posting here.

I am always perplexed when someone directly or indirectly by innuendo chooses to circumvent those policies. What might the goal be - to expand OCDO into other issues/arenas? I can assure you that is not going to happen.
