yet another thread trainwrecked by --mod edited--

Yep. It'll post a half-a-dozen thoughtless drive-bys that make little sense and are designed only to disrupt. Once it enters a conversation, I end up skipping page after page of its bilge (and people foolishly trying to have a conversation with it) before finding something worth discussing.

What a waste of bandwidth.

I don't mean to disagree with so much of what people post, here; but: The Constitution is a contract between the Collective--including individuals who don't agree with the Constitution, but engage in the politics of it (voting)--, and the representative.

Read Lysander Spooner's No. Treason 1.

If the founders understood the constitution to mean rule of the majority, they never would have agreed to it. It simply says we the people, which would be the minorities and the majorities.

Chicago Police Chief: We’ll Shoot Licensed Civilians With Guns
Posted by Jim Hoft on Saturday, January 12, 2013, 9:37 PM

“You put more guns on the street expect more shootings,” McCarthy said. “I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.”

Sounds like war to me.

I agree: compromise ought to be part of all dialogue between the People's representatives.

What if I told you police in your town could desensitize themselves to the idea of shooting a (armed) child, pregnant woman, or young mother, for just a couple of bucks? The "No More Hesitation" series from Law Enforcement Targets Inc. offers exactly that. For less than 99 cents per target, police can shoot at real-life images "designed to give officers the experience of dealing with deadly force shooting scenarios with subjects that are not the norm during training."

We don't agree, I don't believe in chattel or political slavery.

Saying a majority has the authority to set rights means the minority only has the rights the majority says they can. Which means they are not rights at all, but since I believe no one tells me what my fellow human beings and rights are and that they are fundamental, we don't agree.
