You have to remember that CV.us is the result of people who could not get along with those at either Crownvic.net or Grandmarq.net. ...

That is correct.

That's still not a valid reason to attack Technoweenie or Open Carry simply because they don't like Technoweenie. I think KnightRider finally stepped in and adjusted some of their attitudes on Open Carry. (He's also had to adjust their attitudes on blatant racism as well on occasion)

He was rather pleasant.

That particular web site picks and chooses their friends. That's the problem with him, he isn't one of their bosom buddies. The second problem is he has "wrinkly pants" and is overweight. They have a lot of nerve to call Open Carry people fat and claim Open Carry members will have serious health problems in 10 years. The admin ofthat site weighs in at about 350 pounds himself. Morbidly obese.

The point is though........ some of themare attacking Open Carry only because they don't like somebody they see in the news clip. One person attacking him posts thread after thread about whatever new handgun or rifle they have bought from month to month. And the rest drool over it month after month.
other sites have similar views of OC'ers in general, O.com for example has displayed similar levels of ignorance in the recent past.

I have an outstanding judgement for lible against one of their members right now, with interest until paid. She's an ex cop in Pennsylvania. It will bite her in the butt when she least expects it.

edit: can't spell BITE :banghead:
And you're not collecting on it? Sorry, did not mean to derail the thread...

Not cool.....

A general statement like that is no better than someone saying the same about OC'ers. :?
I would have to disagree, OC is for a specific purpose of defense. Tricking out your interceptor is just plain funny/badass haha

I've seen forums devoted to Camaros, Mustangs, Corvettes, even a few quirky ones devoted to things like air- or water-cooled VWs. But a website devoted to the same car that 80-year old guys who drive with their hats on is ...... well, .... mmm ... to each their own. I've seen forums devoted to Bryco-Jennings-JimenezArms.

Ever hear of a sleeper???:dude:

A Crown Vic and Grand Marquis are in effect heavy Mustangs for purposes of modifications. The 1986-1991 used a 302 with a hydraulic roller camshaft. Pretty easy to perk them up with bolt on parts. A 1996 4.6L Mustang with an automatic tranny ran low 15's in the 1/4 mile bone stock. A2000 Crown Vic with dual exhaust and factory 3.55 gears can break into the high 15's pretty easily bone stock. A 2001 even more so as it got the performance improved heads. It is pretty hard to load luggage, your guns, ammo and 4 people into a Mustang and drive across country comfortably.

Mustangs are cool, Crown Vics are old man cars and Cop wannabes...Revolvers are cool, Glocks are forgangsters and cop wannabes....:? Same logic. Why be unified when we can fragment and divide even more???:X

Lol not the same logic. Apples and oranges. No one thinks glocks are for cop wannabees, they are good weapons of defense for a reason. Nobody said vics are for cop wannabees either though. Though one can not compare the two...

Cars: used to get to work and back and to show off status/personality

to

Weapons: usedto defend your life and your families livesagainst murderers.

"Unifying" the two would set back thepro-gun movementback years and years lol. Opinions on what car is cooler etc.. is not the same as the facts behind guns. Though I'm sure we can both live in peace :dude:

A handful get through, but they're always ostracized pretty quickly....

It's mainly a Ford RWD BOF site.... Covers the entire panther platform... Towncar, Grand Marquis, Mark VIII, and CV

Thought about getting a Crown Vic when I was in the market for a car last time, but got an Impala instead. Cops use those too....does that mean I'm a "cop wannabe" now? ONOES! :uhoh:

Around here, Crown Vics (retired police ones) and Glocks are both rugged, thuggish wear.

Ok, all kidding and irrational generalizations aside, you can't compare a 302 CV to a 4.6 pre-PI heads Mustang. The pre-97 4.6 heads were horrible.

I'm a '90's T-bird fan, myself. 302/4.6, big like a CV, and comfortable as hell. I loved my '97 in high school.

Edit: OK, WTF is "whackerizing"?

You mean Pre-'99 Mustang heads.....;) CV/GM didn't get PI heads until 2001. They were not horrible, but the Mustang was so heavy and they were down a few horses compared to theirreplacements. The intakePI actually added more performance than the heads did in the 99+ Mustangs. Too bad the T-bird didn't get the Explorer motor in 1996 instead of getting the 4.6.

I thought they started offering the PI heads in '97 through their parts department, but didn't put them on production vehicles? Yeah, the 4.6 in my T-bird wasn't as strong as I would have liked, but it was ok for me. I drove that car into the ground.

It's the intentional act of taking a Crown Victoria (old cop car or civilian car) and making it appear to the casual eye that it's still an active in service police car. It involves pulling off nice wheels or full size wheel covers and putting onwhat's called "the baby center caps". It involves drilling holes in the sheetmetal to add antennas. It involves ripping the chrome Crown Victoria emblem off the trunk and replacing it with a black "Police Interceptor" emblem. It involves drilling holes in the front bumper and mounting a push bar. It involves ripping out a nice chrome grill and and replacing it with a black honeycomb grill like most of the police package cars use. The list of intentional police looking equipment just goes on and on, whatever they can dream up. One of the funniest things I ever read on that web site was some guy who painted a tissue box black and placed it in the windshield. It was suppose to look like a radar unit sitting on the dash. Some go as far as mounting emergency lights in the grill, strobes in the headlights and tail lights, and emergency light bars in the rear windshield. Many of these lights are illegal simply due to the colors they choose to use.
