An Almost Uneventful Day

I went to Sports Authority(North Haven), TJ Max, Marshalls, Bed Bath and Beyond, Wal-Mart, McDonalds(all in Hamden)all with no problems.

Then I went to Kohl’s in Hamden. I was in and out within 5mins after making a purchase. As I am driving away, 2 Hamden Cops Cars pull up to the front door. They could have been there for some other reason beside me, but I doubt that. I did not stick around to find out.

I went to Cabela’s next.

I was confronted by 3 employees. One asked if my gun was loaded. I said yes. He said I had to check my gun in at the front desk. I said the sign on the door says I only have to thatif I am bringing it in for service.

Then the same employee said that OC in CT is not legal. I corrected him again, showing him the CCDL pamphlet, the BOF printout, and talking about the Goldberg case. After that, one of the other employee did say that OC is legal. I let the one employee hang on to my pamphlet and left them all a little more educated. They were pretty nice about the whole thing.

Its funny that this even happened as I just saw another post saying that the sign on the door now says open carry is ok.

Then on my way home I stopped at Hoffman’s and of course no problems there.

In all what a day to OC!

With that list of places, we are bound to cross paths at some point. I too was at Sports Authority in North Haven yesterday. No issues, but I had a worker ask me what I carry and if it requires a permit.

Still all positive since my arrest.

I would be curious as to if this was related to you or not. If so, I wonder what the people who may have been concerned were told by the police.
