At least it turned out right, the homeowner kept his rights, and his home, and the perp kept his life. Hopefully this will change it for the better.

He must have been using a "light" load such as a bird shot if this was a 12 GA? There is no way a Bad Guy takes 4 blasts of 00 or 000 at point blank range & lives to tell about it (IMO).

It took 4 -12 gauge rounds? And the guy survived? WTF was he using number 10 shot? I use number 4 buck and I can't imagine anyone having to take 4 rounds to comply. Wow he was either really feeling no pain drunk or that shot gun was loaded with tiny shot or the homeowner missed 3 times.

I am told the Media screwed it up, he used a 20 gauge not a .12 gauge as this article claimed. Also the homeowner could not see his attacker and there were a few rounds fired in total darkness. So I would assume he missed a few times. Also other stories are he fired 5 rounds in the darkness and panic. the local FOX News station said he used bird shot. So with the conflicting media accounts so typical today, all we know is the bad guy has a history of assaults, B&E, and burglary.
Who really knows what happened, but I still insist that number 4 buckshot magnum would have done a better job.

I have a Pitt Bull and German Shepard as my welcoming committee and I have those auto on night lights that are directed towards any potential intruder. Both front and back doors are double doors foyer, with hardened door frames and Steel doors. Hinges are pinned to the wall studs and so are the lock strike plates with 4 inch deck screws. It works well to seriously slow down a home invasion.

That's a good thing to do in Kommiefornia. It used to be that if the burglar tripped over something in the dark and injured himself, he could sue you. I think it is still that way. Correct me if I am wrong.
