HOUSTON, Texas - Authorities are investigating after dozens of shots were fired in east Houston.

According to a detective, the incident began as a home invasion at the 7000 block of Sherman.

Authorities say the homeowner defended himself when the suspects entered the home. Following the shooting, the suspects fled from the scene.

Police have set up a perimeter stretching from Harrisburg to Sherman to Capitol, along 71st Street.

At another scene, a vehicle was found about two blocks from the shooting, where a man was found dead in the backseat.

Authorities say that out of five people shot, three of them died.

A witness at the scene says he went outside when he heard the shots to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

At some point, officers with guns drawn were seen searching a port-a-potty.

Growing up I went to church about a mile from there. An okay neighborhood has gotten a lot rougher in 30 years.
Still absolutely no discussion about homeowner's 1) occupation, 2) did he have a pistol or rifle or shotgun, 3) did police question the 'ladies crying down the block' - I suppose for their loved ones that were home invaders and have assumed room temperature.
Since Houston & Harris county are Sanctuary cities/counties protesting Texas' new law denying their right to do so and still receive State Funds, I wonder if it will ever hit the light of day of how many of these involved were Illegals...

Didn’t see the caption. What is curious is the quote “...the homeowner defended himself when the suspects entered the home...”. Guy has an AK-47 and lets guys come inside his fence and get inside his house b4 you can raise your AK?

I read another article where he stated that they came in demanding money, and he thought it was a joke initially. They thought he was reaching for his wallet, but it was the AK.

Idk how that could be a joke.
