If I'd had enough in the kitty bank, I might have told you about the find I just picked up for the buy-it-now price. :p

Unfortunately, discretionary funds are in short supply right now.

If you scored a .41 Magnum I will be extremely jealous, and will probably divert my search to include a blued 3" .41 Mag instead.

eyes bigger than the pocketbook syndrome, eh??

hate when that occurs...

The moment of realization has arrived. I doubt I'd be able to find one under a grand in great condition. To my credit though, the guy had a 29-4 and they only made something like 2,465 of those. That's a pretty rare pistol. Then again, who knows, maybe the gun I'm looking for exists for the price I'm imagining and I need to look harder.

Somewhere there may be a lil' ol' lady whose husband passed away years ago and now just wants to get "it" out of the house.

Could be she just found the 'nasty thing' in the back of the safe - he had never told her about it....

Yes they are SA, but since they are centerfire, instead of rimfire, the firing pin can be rested between case heads. Which case they can be loaded fully safely. If dropped the FP cannot strike a primer. Many of the early rimfires, and of course the cap, and ball did not have that option so they were carried with an empty chamber. Except for the 58 Remy which has a hammer notch between each chamber.

Exactly as I carry mine. 6 chambers full and the hammer down in the mid-notches.

Just to maintain thread integrity, yes Truth, that gun is pretty!
