Quote,
An 11-year-old Lawton Chiles Middle Academy student was arrested Feb. 4 and charged with disrupting a school function and resisting arrest without violence following a confrontation with school officials and a law enforcement officer.

The incident happened after his refusal to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and his refusal to stand after ordered by the substitute teacher.

Polk County Public Schools spokesman Kyle Kennedy said the sixth-grader “was arrested after becoming disruptive and refusing to follow repeated instructions by school staff and law enforcement.” Unquote

The school district’s staff and the local LEs involved must be full off glee and satisfaction losing control of an 11yo sixth grader...

[disrupting a school function is listed in FL’s statutes?]

This is what happens in a country whose population doesn't understand their own founding principles.

Just as an aside, he was not arrested for the refusal to stand.

Per the article, he was arrested for an incident following his refusal. That incident involved his disruptions of a school event and resisting arrest.

I can’t tell you how many students at the private school at which I taught claimed that they were suspended for not pulling their pants up. Bravo Sierra. They were suspended for the behavior that followed the request by a faculty member to comply with the dress code!

BTW, at that school, we required students to at least stand quietly for the Pledge. If they did not like that rule, they were free to attend a different school.

A state agent (the teacher) did not know the "law" and a citizen not violating the law was arrested. Sound familiar.

Good luck on any law suit. The supremes have commanded that schools are above the law in their school house.

Kid did not stand. That should have been that.

No more request, no calling the kiddie cop, therefore no ruckus and no grounds to arrest.
Which is probably the goal to create.
Minor authority figures have a tendency to get puffed up in cheeks when legitimately told to go pound sand and just can't let it go.

Just making sure that the facts are correctly reported.

I know that runs counter to the desired narrative, but facts are kind of important.

Call WHIO to publicly misreport the situation, then you can unequivocally believe the ‘facts’ are correctly reported!

Sorry but anyone who says that “the flag is racist and the national anthem is offensive to black people” is probably against the Constitution too, and has no business in this nation let alone the school. It's one thing to single out and pick on a student for not standing or whatever. It's another thing for a brainwashed and prejudiced Resist student to stage an incident on purpose to attack the pledge, the anthem, our nation, and all it stands for.

Socialists divide the population by class. Race, gender, wage, etc - wake up people, it's all Ballistic Statistics. The real goal of such division and manipulation is always to divide and conquer, to overthrow our Constitution and put some group of elites in control. Many useful tools at their disposal, especially the tools teaching in the schools. We need some of our own - some sane people - to be teachers, journalists, and so on. Take back the lost territory.

Can agree with most of that.
But I submit the biggest threat to the constitution is our own government. And it's agencies and enforcers.

Not terrorists, or outside forces. Certainly not a school kid refusing to stand for the anthem.

I'm sorry, but anyone who thinks that the national anthem protest is about "the flag is racist and the national anthem is offensive to black people” doesn't understand what the point is. If there's anything that's against the Constitution, it's getting upset when someone doesn't stand for the national anthem or pledge of allegiance. People are literally getting offended because of someone exercising their right to free speech. No harm is being done to ANYONE when someone kneels....but those upset love to call liberals "snowflakes".

Wellllll, not to put to fine a point on it, folks have the same constitutional right to get upset if someone protests the anthem or flag.

Funny thing them thar rights. They don't always only go one way.

Some other examples of Rights:

1. The NFL and team owners have the Right to say, “You will stand for the Anthem while you are on our fields and working for us, or you can go away and stop working for us.” They have the Right to say the opposite and have exercised that Right.

2. We have the Right to criticize the players, the teams and the league for their chosen exercise of their Rights. Such criticism is not preventing* them from exercising those Rights.

3. We have the Right not to buy their product. I and millions of others have stopped buying that product. I haven’t watched a single second of NFL for over three years. Such buying decisions are also not preventing* the players, the teams, or the NFL from exercising their Rights.

* See my razor below.
