  • Hi Chris got your pm, thanks. Been retired for a couple years now, worked at Mfld. Door 30 yrs. Member of central wi. sportsman club. cc class there on Dec. 8th.Take care
I was referring to observed actions , not direct interaction. I have been mistaken for a LEO several times in this town , mainly because there is usually a two-way handheld hanging off of my belt ( President of the Mfld Amateur Radio Club ) , short hair and my situational awareness . I suspect it'll only get worse with the addition of a sidearm .

    Oh well , you know what they say , " MOOOOOOOOOOON EYES ! ! ! " LOL
Hi Chris - I'm fortunate, I don't attract the attention of LEO's. I spent 10 years on the street with law enforcement and paramedics which helps. Also, I must look like I work in a detective's bureau. Put me behind the wheel of a plain jane Crown Victoria and I get waved at by all the LEO's in their squads. Of course several birthdays have passed now. Perhaps now I look like a retired detective.

I've seen some recent posts by NAM_VET who is apparently in Marshfield and I know there is someone from Auburndale named Brad who is a member of WCI and who shoots occasionally at the Central Wisconsin Sportsman's Club just east of town. Supposedly the owner of Boom To Zoom does occasional contractor work overseas and I know he is a believer in mandated training. That's about all the local "intelligence" that I know. I moved to Marshfield 6 years ago and being divorced, no children, and not from the area, I don't get invited to many social events...
Yes , I notice the especially sneaky sign posted at the Clinic . . . I had to look closely for it . Kinda like how the No Smoking signs are in plain sight , but the Wrong Way , Do Not Enter signs are on the reverse side of the door , obscured by the tint of the glass . I was actually surprised they didn't pull that with the Anti sign , too .

Thanks for the add, Scott. Name here is Chris , by the way . And I agree about your thoughts on incoming predators . Most of the people here still think they live in Mayberry , RFD and don't even lock their doors ! :shocker:

And the plethora of slick-sleeved rookie cops fresh out of MSTC's academy don't exactly inspire the warm fuzzies in me. I know a couple are regular JBT's and they've been on the Force long enough to have worked it out of their system . . . .
I've been in Wisconsin since '88 and was originally from NW Indiana and quite familiar with commuting into Chicago. Rush hour traffic on any of the interstates was far safer than trying to walk or drive through the parking lot at Festival or Wal-Mart!! Whether driving down the street or walking down the aisle in the grocery store the people in this town live in their own world in between their own ears and are oblivious to what is around them. Born in and raised around Gary, IN I can't help but wonder what would happen if some serious predators decided to start working this area. Currently I work at Security Health Plan which is owned by the Marshfield Clinic. Neither organization is 2A friendly.
Nah, I don't work for the Clinic, although I'm there several times a day. I am a paratransit (wheelchair van ) driver and the City of Marshfield is my AO. Do you work for the Clinic ? Kinda guessing so by the nature of your question. . .been in state for ten years and Mfld for the last five. STILL can't get used to how stupidly people drive in this town ! LOL.
Welcome to Wisconsin, Pennsylvanian. I, too, am a resident of Marshfield. Do you happen to be employed by the Marshfield Clinic? I also live in Marshfield. I moved here almost 7 years ago. - Scott
