I dropped my vehicle off at the Busted Knuckle a couple of days ago and the guy asked about how hard it was to get my permit. We chatted a bit and then I left, there were absolutely zero problems with my carrying.

Was just at the WalMart in south Broken Arrow. Young boy (3-4 yo) in a cart near where I was shopping noticed. He started saying in a matter of fact voice, "momma, that man has a gun" She looked my way and I just smiled and said hello. She was busy making her get a way at that point. The boy seemed a whole lot less worried than momma.

On Saturday, OC'd at the McD's on 61st and Lynn Lane. Several noticed and didn't give a second look, including the manager. It is encouraging that open carry has been such an incredible Non-Event in Oklahoma. I try to keep up with the postings of new places, and some old places, that I OC, but it is getting boring saying the same old thing over and ovefr again. I carried in **** and nobody seemed to notice, or care.

Although I'm not looking for confrontation, this is exactly right.

I, also, am not looking for confrontation. More trying to keep the forum going. Tonight I will OC at Rib Crib, and probably nothing will happen.
Is it fair to post our non-events before they happen?

Just when I thought nothing would happen...
A couple I work with and their teenage daughter were having dinner one table over at the same restaurant. We talked a little about carry and the carry class. They asked if I had ever shot "it". My reply was that I have shot "it" several thousand times in training, and hope that I never have to shoot "it", "for real".
Worst part of the dinner was having to wait so long to even get a drink order (water) in that I was ready to get up and leave. Best part was that the meal was comp'ed by the manager for having to wait so long.

Took my 3 year old daughter to Bass Pro last night (OKC) to look at the fish then walked down to Fuzzys Taco Shop. Another "boring" non-issue event. However, I did think that everyone there was very nice. They said hello, brought my daughter some paper and colors to color, checked on us two or three times. Open carry really seems to bring the polite side out of most people. Not one look from other customers.

"...a good man with a gun..."

Today, a 3 or 4 year old little boy noticed my OC'd Springfield and loudly announced to his dad, "Dad! Dad! That man has a gun! Why does he have a gun?" His dad looked at me and back to the kid and was clearly at a loss for an answer. Without getting any closer, I squatted down to the child's level and said "Young man, if there ever is a bad man with a gun, the best way to stop him is a good man with a gun." He said, "Is that why police carry a gun?" "Yes, it's exactly the same reason." The kid went off with his dad, very happy with that answer.

CLASSIC !!!! Well done.

Went on my annual clothes shopping spree to Chickasha today. Heard K Mart was having a 50% off sale (50-70% on lots of stuff) then had lunch next door at Golden Corral. Had 3 people tell me they liked my shirt and asked where I got it (front gun owner(with check mark)/ victim and back The second amendment when you come for mine better bring yours! Only big look was from me when I saw how little I actually paid for everything.

Yesterday in the Broken Arrow Lowes, was strolling the tool aisle looking for several different things, and walked past a couple of guys several times. One noticed my Glock and I got the wide eyed "you're carrying, are you a cop?" My reply was "Nope, just a citizen" He then asked what agency I worked for. Again, I told him I'm just a citizen. He asked what it took to carry. I gave him the basic requirements, we talked a while about other things and went our separate ways. Chalk up another good encounter.

I was on the turnpike today and my car over heated, when I pulled over to add water a highway patrol officer pulled up behind me. As he approached me he kept looking at my Firearm. After asking if I was ok he then asked if I was law enforcement. I replied no. Then he asked if I had my license, I said of coarse. He asked do you mind if I see it, it's just that your the first person I've seen open carry. I told him I had to since he asked and that was the law. No big deal he didn't even run my info just wanted to look at it. He handed me everything back and we talked about my Firearm and I even told him about OKOCA and told him to check it out. Pretty good day.

Was waiting in the ammo line at Wally World last night, OC'ing my Tisas M1911 as usual. A man on one of the electric carts slowed down and asked me if I knew I wasn't supposed to OC in WW. I smiled and informed him of the WW corporate policy of observing state law, and he replied "Well, I am going out to the truck and putting mine back on then!" That started a half-hour long conversation between 4 or 5 of us near the front of the line, really helping pass the time. I saw one other OC'er pass by with a 92f Beretta on his hip, and then a fella with a Glock also OC'ing in the parking lot. The word is spreading here and more folks are beginning to exercise their rights. It's good to see it!

3/30-Red Lobster in OKC along 240 service road. On the way in my wife pointed out this guy was watching us as we walked past. I looked at him in time to see him tap his buddy and say something. His buddy looked at me looking at them. They both got in the car and left. Nothing noticed in the restaurant and the service and food were great.

3/31-After church went to Olive Garden in OKC off 240 service road. Stood outside about 30 min waiting. Saw several looks from guys some were nothing more than a look and one guy seemed to be keeping an eye on me and for some reason I actually felt uncomfortable about it. Food was good even though we had issues with it all being cold. Also had a large spider drop in on our table for a bite to eat as well. Let it be know I can't stand spiders and used my bread basket to make short work of him.
After OG we went to Wally World at Sooner and -40. No issues at all and didn't notice any looks.

Today my wife, son and I were out car shopping and we went to I Luv cheap cars at 1101 s 193Rd east Ave. In Tulsa. The sales person Ruben benavides was very polite and friendly. The company all around are extremely Firearm friendly and stand behind the 2A.
One of the owners actually teach carry classes. I have them a card with OKOCA information and invited them to check us out as well as other groups that feel the same way as we do about our 2A.
Even though we did not make a purchase today due to some issues that need to be fixed with the vehicle we are interested in, we do hope that we will make a deal when it's ready. And I recommend there company to anyone who is in the market for a vehicle and wants to also support a company with the same beliefs as us.
And no top of it all they do have a nice selection to pick from and very clean cars as well. I invite them to watch our pages and to feel free to join us during any of our get togethers that we have. I hope they will think about joining us for the cause.
I shared the signs that they proudly display on there business doors.
If your not looking for a car go to there page and tell them thanks for the support.

I went out to eat dinner last night at the Long John / A&W on Douglas and 29th. When I sat down the red head guy that rung me up came out to sweep and approached me.
And ask me the "excuse me sir, are you a cop"?
I replied no just a citizen.
Clerk: oh you have an open carry license
Me: yes I have a permit, and if you don't have a criminal record, take the safety class and pay the fees you can get one too.
Clerk: well I don't like guns, and you came in I saw it and was like ooohhh.
Me: it is just a tool
Clerk: well I don't like gun because a got shot one time(pointed to his dairy-air)
Me: by a bad guy?
Clerk: yeah I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, I was in a convenience store when two guys tried to rob it, I know martial arts so I grabbed one and threw him down and grabbed the other ones arm and tried to disarm him and the gun went off.
Me: yeah when you try stuff like that those things can happen.

Well there was a little more said but I won't bore you with more of it, but I think the guy was full of it. When he pointed at his back side he pointed to his right side as being shot then he tried to animate his action of disarming he went to the left. And also he kinda put me on alert as he had a demeanor as if he wanted to try and disarm me. Talking about how he was a fighter and did not like guns. Lol he looked like he was skin and bones and weighed 125 lbs soaking wet. Even with his appearance his vibe put me on alert.

It's almost funny and my first encounter like this so I wanted to share it.

This can't be right. We were all told that LE would freak out and prone us out on the ground. Maybe even shoot us.
