Lately, some people try to link "neoconservative" with meaning "pro-Israel."
"That guy there is a neocon."
"OMG, just say what you mean and stop using code words! You're mad because he's pro-Israel and you're an anti-semite!"
"wut?"
Over the last thirty years, I've observed that most humans are not open minded in the least. Instead, they bend over backwards to pigeon-hole others into little niches in which they feel they can understand while actually trying to understand the others. Provided the others conform to their tiny little niche, all is well. When they don't, whether it's a visitor or one's daughter, all hell breaks loose.
Anyway, yes, the Tea Party ain't what it used to be. Some people say the Tea Party was started by Rick Santelli. I tell those people to go put Tea Party 2007 into Youtube search and see what happens.
The Tea Party has been many things to many people. Few people have ever been able to pin it down. One person that has is Bill Whittle. He nailed it, six ways to Sunday. If you're complaining about the Tea Party on grounds beyond what his series identifies, you'd better have a tremendous argument. I've yet to see any such argument, though, either inside this venue, or anywhere on the outside. What I have seen is a gross distortion of reality that consistently fails to match any segment of the last 38 years of my life. Beyond that, I was a kid, riding my bicycle all around town, playing G.I. Joe in the woods, and wrestling my friends in my backyard pool, in the woods, and on the school playground.
Steve N., step in here, either to say "No way" or "Yep, that's what we did." Thanks.
It's too bad... I see so many people claim they are Tea Party now, and then they want to vote Mitt or Newt over Ron Paul. You'd think people in the Taxed Enough Already Party would go for the limited-government guy who has never voted to raise taxes and who wants to eliminate the entire income tax and IRS, but nope. These people are liars and hypocrites.
I wouldn't call them "liars and hypocrites." I'd call them "hoodwinked."
And now we have supposed-tea-party-darling Sarah Palin unofficially endorsing progressive Newt. That pretty much seals the end of the real Tea Party imo.
So Romney's out, and so is Newt?"
So I was driving to work one morning...
Although I'm good for $50k/year, I've chosen not to work this year and instead work towards ensuring Obama never sees the light of a single day beyond his last official day in office. May he retire well, long, and in luxurious gardens! But with no more input into American than "I think..." with the American people, having realized what a charlatan he is, ask him "Why did you say this?"
