Providing for self-defense isn't the same as providing for defense of unknown persons, especially without knowing who is victim and who is aggressor. You seem to follow a worldview that places a person as either a community protector, or as a milquetoast who isn't worthy of defending their own self and/or family. That IS a false dichotomy.

It isn't about selfish or not, or about how YOU choose to live your life. It is about how you project your opinion and choice onto others, and badmouth them for not acting as you would. Absent that, it is simply opinion. With that, it is denigrating others.
