Hello Fellow OCers from the North Metro

I just wanted to say hello from Circle Pines up here in the good old north metro area! i am looking forward to being a member of this forum. would love to know how many other OCers live around the area. i am about 1 mile away from Bills GS North, go shooting there around twice a month. i would love to get to know some of you guys and maybe even shoot with you some time! I am a former SSgt Weapons Troop of the USAF, i have been out a little over a year and a half now. I both open and concealed carry every day depending where i am.
Here are my daily carry guns

Springfield XD 4" in .45 With Fobus Paddle For Open Carry



And my Ruger SR9c With Vega IBW For Concealed.

Welcome and nice pics. I am from the south suburbs and envy the idea that you live such a short ride to a good gun club. I seldom OC, but it does happen now and then. I just had someone yesterday ask me why I carry a handgun and I told here because I didn't think I could rely on the Police to be available immediately in an emergency, she looked at me like I was crazy.

thanks for the welcome. i know i lucked out big time when i moved in here to my place. Bills is great also Metro gun club is right up the street in Blaine i think. i feel ya on the carry questions. Many people ask me why i carry as well, the answer i give them depends on the person though. when i started it was to show my family, who is pretty neutral on the whole "gun thing," that a safe law abiding person can carry and that its does not mean i am a "bad guy." I inform everyone of my second amendment rights and if i know them i offer to take them out shooting as well. so far with this approach, i have shown every single friend and family member that i am a safe, normal, and average day person. the only difference is that i carry a 45 on my hip. they have all accepted this and think no differently of me for it. in fact three of my family members and my girlfriend have now purchased handguns and train with me on a regular basis! i consider this a great success, because not only have i displayed that a person does not change when they carry, but i have brought 4 new people into the world of firearms and they love it! Like you i have gotten some guff from the average joe on the street, who cant understand why i carry but, if they want to disagree with me, or question my stance on carrying that is their right, just as it is my right to carry.
