Does anyone have experience working with our MO State representatives?

Which representatives are the most gun friendly/willing to sponsor gun friendly bills in each chamber? And do you have any experiences approaching/working with them regarding legislation?

I have met with my representative Rocky Miller on issues and was very helpful. Very pro 2nd Amendment.

No such thing as a "gun friendly" bill.

By supporting such, other than bills to repeal other laws, you admit that they can regulate guns.

I do not support any gun bills ... all are void.

Thanks for your opinion. I'm trying, in part, to roll back legislation, but your off topic judgement is noted.

I did not provide an opinion .. just facts :dude:. What is the primary law or top one that you are trying to roll back or get repealed?

I may post a new thread on that as it approaches, but for the moment don't want to let this thread get sidetracked discussing the bills, as I'd really like opinions on representatives and working with them.

as i have advocated previously, the concept of 'keeping hidden agendas' will not afford you the appropriate insight you feel you are seeking.

case in point...you wish to know how to work with legislative individuals w/o stating the cause you are pursing...therefore, the guidance you get might put you on the wrong track and only after you have expended considerable time and efforts will you discern this individual is not whom you needed to approach.

but as you have previously stated...this is just another off topic comment...

I don't see the OP's query as being unreasonable at all.

In Virginia, VCDL maintains regular contact with pro gun delegates and senators. We most often work below the horizon until the time is ripe.

Not at all even worried about keeping things hidden. Just worried, that the thread will focus on the merits and topics of the proposals, which is a place for another thread, vs. this request.

Well if you want people's opinions on the members, the laws in question, that you wish to repeal, are highly relevant.

My suggestion - If you can't answer his question as asked, don't.

This site, do to the posts of some, makes it hard to advance the cause of many of us seek. What shame.

Actually a good suggestion.

i agree, but why did it take 4 comments to get there?

sent a PM, but god only knows if it went:

SB 656, the open carry premption, was introduced by Senator Wil Kraus and Kevin Elmer (no longer in office)

MSPGUNNER (the late Marc Perez) and LMTD were both part of this effort. You might contact him directly for help.

Good luck!

Well, if he would have given the public acts he wanted to get repealed I would have researched the votes of the members...no point in contacting a sponsor of a bill that passed, right? It looks like he wants to get legislation introduced to repeal some laws ... of course, it only requires one legislator to do that.

I even have a blank bill template for my legislature ... I type up a bill and send it to a legislator I think would be willing to move it forward. Make it easy on them by writing it yourself, everyone is somewhat lazy.

I don't think he'll get an answer .... w/o providing more information.

He can go here .. https://www.nrapvf.org/grades/

For vague, non-specific queries.

You're welcome.

Thank you both for the suggestions!

First, know who your state reps are.

http://www.senate.mo.gov/

http://www.house.mo.gov/

Then send them a e-mail and ask them what their position is on our Art. I Sec 23 (the 2A) right is. If you feel their answer is overly broad, too general, ask more specific questions that are focused on the below statutes. Specifically the parts of these statutes that interest you. Specifics are what politicians need to draft legislation, even where a deletion (repeal) is needed. We are discussing laws and words matter.

Then, review the statutes that you desire addressed.

RSMo 21.750 is the statute that requires a endorsement to OC in some political subdivisions. http://moga.mo.gov/mostatutes/ChaptersIndex/chaptIndex021.html
RSMo 571 is our firearms statute. http://moga.mo.gov/mostatutes/ChaptersIndex/chaptIndex571.html
RSMo 563 is our use of force statute. http://moga.mo.gov/mostatutes/ChaptersIndex/chaptIndex563.html

sorry, but OP your forthcoming on your perceived project is beyond incomprehensible. you have access to some individuals who might have tons of experience in assisting yet you still play cat and mouse...oh, quote i'll post another thread, etc. unquote.

you have summarily dismissed comments with 'oh thanks for the suggestions' response.

you now have folk providing you the basics of know who your reps are since you couldn't articulate even that concept.

tell us logunowner...pray tell just what is the cause the OP is seeking since you seem to have that special gift of insight?? oh yes, vaguely stated gun friendly bills against vaguely stated state statutes?

yes logunowner...it is a shame!!

folk continuing to do things in the dark by themselves and then whine when it doesn't get across home plate from the pitcher.

OP's question was pretty straight forward and should've merited a pretty straight forward answer without him having to provide chapter and verse if he didn't feel the need at this moment. Yet, I have to agree with logunowner 1000%. What's the point in having a forum where we're supposed to help each other promote the idea of open carry when the same handful of people have nothing better to do than split hairs with people's posts...which discourages others from posting and/or possibly makes people leave never to come back?
