Women on Target

I got to help out at a women on target event yesterday and we had over 104 women show up. Many had Carry permits and were misinformed by various agencies of the SDA laws. Many more became interested and signed up for carry permit classes. It is amazing how many of them came in not knowing the first thing about guns and left out with a new found love of guns!

With my opening statement I just want to remind everyone to keep up to date with changes in laws and be careful seeking advice online from others who are not proficient in the laws. Laws change from time to time and it is our responsibility to make sure we are in compliance and show the nation that we are not rogue cowboys but instead responsible citizens who obey the law and are not a threat to any one but bad guys. This is what eases fear and increases support for the 2nd amendment.

Thanks to all the girls who are signing up for carry classes and becoming a part of a growing community of citizens who are fighting crime in a nonviolent way..... By letting the bad guys know more people are carrying and increasingly crime may in fact cost them their life. This is the only real deterrent that has worked is fear of life.

Get rid of all the gun laws and one is set ... to carry w/o worrying about if traveling 1 ft or 2 ft in this or that direction makes them a felon...

NOW NOW that would take away the elitist special permission club. There is only one gun law that should be, the second amendment.

I agree with you. There's always been one thing that has always bugged the diffins out of me. To be able to carry, we are investigated and we are clean, no history of crimes. So then, why are the cops so afraid of us that we can't carry into the police station, the courthouse, and etc???

That never did make any sense to me.....

Just to give an answer and not opinion but police stations are because many house inmates and tehy just want to assure inmates don't get ahold of weapons. Court houses there is a lot of emotion involved. Families of murder victims, rape victims maiming victims etc. On the opposite side emotion runs high when a loved one may be sentenced to death or years behind bars.

Do I agree or not is irrelevant but this is just a straight forward answer.

I sorta don't agree and agree with you to a point. As for myself, I was arrested 3 times (falsely and without probable cause) and had one full day jury trial. The cops don't bring prisioners through the front door as they do on TV. There's a separate entrance, heavily fenced/gated in the rear of the building for bringing and releasing prisioners. When going in the front door, you can't get to the back because of security. Aside from the locked doors the cops have guns. So where's the risk? If someone wanted to be stupid enough to try to spring a prisioner, they'd get shot whether they went through the front or the rear prisioner entrance, if they could even get in.

With regard to the courts, I agree. Emotions run high. But as licensed concealed carriers, we of all people of the general public should be trusted and maybe, they should require we carry concealed to minimize the risk. There's ways in OKC courthouse to get in without going through the metal detector. I've done it. It's a little shady, but if I have done it, anyone can do it and having trusted concealed carry citizens around would minimize damage if some criminal got in with a weapon. When you need a cop, they're minutes away, even at the courthouse. Maybe not minutes, but far longer than a citizen who's right there should something happen.

After all, if you can't trust a licensed concealed carrier, then who can you trust? These days, I'm not so sure I could even trust a cop anymore.

Its ok to disagree but its not my views. If I had my way we could carry anywhere. All I was pointing out is some of the common logic. In fact many police stations don't house prisoners at all. But the thought is there may be a detainee brought in for questioning. Also you have some lawmakers that watched terminator and think about the police station scene.

Again I have no issues at all with people carrying anywhere. In fact I encourage it. We just got to keep educating the public till we convince society we are not wild westerners but instead simple people who value life so much that well fight to defend it.
