I hear that they require you to have an interview with the Police chief prior to obtaining your pistol permit. Can anyone verify this and also can anyone tell me if that is legal or not?

Cannot be required, I know that.

File an appeal.

Or start carrying around a rifle ... that's legal in this state.

Now what do they want? A person with a pistol or a person with a rifle walking about town?

Rifle needs to be unloaded but the ammo can be in your pocket.

The Connecticut State Police will need to cease and desist in releasing permit information as they have done in the past.
Municipalities will no longer be able to perform ‘suitability investigations’ that include interviewing employers and neighbors like the City of New Haven has been doing for many years now.

^ And remember to not take advice from people who cannot read or get a pistol permit.

I can read and I carry...wrong on both counts rich ... try again.

You linked the webpage .... not me. I cited from it, not you.

One has zero obligation to answer any questions from gov't officials.

My recommendation? File an appeal.

They have to give you a license after the Illinois case regarding being able to train w/your gun. It should just be a rubber stamp ... handing them out freely or not even being needed (as I state is correct under the highest law).

But CTCarry does not have that objective. They want you to pay to attend their "seminars" provided by people who have no idea what the law is ...

CT's unusual because you need a permit to transport you handgun anywhere outside the 4 walls of your house (contrary to with CTcarry folks say~ see CGS Sec. 29-38)...I don't even know if CTcarry folks even own guns...some have stated that they did not own any "assault weapons" and then tell other people not to register ... really classy folks who like to scream at people.

29-38 text:

Sec. 29-38. Weapons in vehicles. Penalty. Exceptions. (a) Any person who knowingly has, in any vehicle owned, operated or occupied by such person, any weapon, any pistol or revolver for which a proper permit has not been issued as provided in section 29-28 or any machine gun which has not been registered as required by section 53-202, shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned not more than five years or both, and the presence of any such weapon, pistol or revolver, or machine gun in any vehicle shall be prima facie evidence of a violation of this section by the owner, operator and each occupant thereof. The word “weapon”, as used in this section, means any BB. gun, any blackjack, any metal or brass knuckles, any police baton or nightstick, any dirk knife or switch knife, any knife having an automatic spring release device by which a blade is released from the handle, having a blade of over one and one-half inches in length, any stiletto, any knife the edged portion of the blade of which is four inches or more in length, any martial arts weapon or electronic defense weapon, as defined in section 53a-3, or any other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument.
