Whataburger says no to OC

I'm surprised whataburger even addressed the issue. Relatively few people care about any of their rights, including the right to bear arms. Even fewer are so anti gun as to not eat somewhere because it doesn't ban open carry. Either way, allowing it or not, whataburger will succeed or fail because of the price vs quality of their food and service.

Not sure on whatagreaseburger prices, but Route 66, formerly Andy's are not expensive, have good burgers, and have welcomed us OCing. Last time we were there we were thanked by the staff for carrying.

In-n-out burger! Fresh, never frozen, no preservatives or fillers and tastes awesome while open carrying!!!!!!!!!!

Solution: We the People say NO to Whataburger

Seriously, people, this is the only viable long-term solution. If you're an American, if love your country, yet spend a single dime at any business that fails to respect your Constitutional rights, you're helping to undermine that which you love.

Here's a thought: Don't. Find organizations that support our Constitution, preferably in an open and outspoken manner. Give THEM your money in exchange for goods and services.

You can start by using the link in my signature, but by all means keep a tally of those companies that proudly support our national interests. Reward them well! Let the other b**turds go out of business.

Emphatically agree.

That sucks. I've OC'd in Whataburger, in a few different locations. I've never had any issues.
I have OC'd all the time when I lived in OKC. No issues not comments from employees or customers. No LEO's freaking out while they were there getting their food as well.

We don't have a Whataburger near Sanford, but we are very pleased with Hgwy 55, and they are gun friendly. There is also a non franchise burger place in Lemon Springs NC, that I have not been to in 10 years, they never said anything before about OC, so I may have to take a trip there one day this week. I am not a burger person anymore, but they used to make the burgers from ground ribeyes.

Well guess what? You may be tired of hearing it, but others are tired of hearing YOU deny that there is a difference. They'll stop saying it, when you quit denying it. Because there is a difference. One is a behavior, and the other is what the person is.

This is no difference. Armed is what I am.

Not the same What-A-Burger. The offending ones are A-frames with orange/white striped roofs that look like this http://whataburger.com/company .

Heck, the What-A-Burger in Chesterfield is not the same company/owner/operator as the What-A-Burger in Colonial Heights.

Some days it's not worth the effort putting him back in The Home at the end of the day.

stay safe.

Gives you a purpose each day, different than the one you remember from the day before.

The ones in Va may be franchises. All What-a-burgers in Tx are company owned. They don't allow franchises in Tx.

These two are not even franchises. Different menu to begin with. Just similar names.

But yes, franchises make for an interesting world. That's pretty much why the Waffle Houses here do not have heartburn over OC.

stay safe.

My spell check doesn't recognize the difference.

To make the distinction easier, the Virginia shops' name is pronounced as "Waterburger," particularly south of the Ni.

There are no Waffle House franchises.

What-A-Burger (with hyphens) is strictly a VA, NC business.

Apparently by agreement the Whataburger entity agreed to not open any shops in these two states.

As it turns out, a lifetime ago I knew the Branch family that started What-A-Burger in Newport News. Buddy Branch was a well known local personality of some repute.

I went to whataburger last night in plano texas and did not see any posted 3006 or 3007.... I would have thought if they are serious they would have the signs up already.

From a customer standpoint, it's not a huge loss to me because I think their food is pretty bad.

What I can't stand though is when companies go on and on about their support of the second amendment and how they serve the gun rights community yet they ban open carry. You either support the second amendment or you cater to people that cry about being uncomfortable. I will never support a business that does the latter.

good reason to help the mom and pop operations out. Andice general store has an awesome burger
