Wal-Mart Limiting Sales of Ammo

I was in Brier Creek Wal Mart yesterday to buy some ammo. Was trying to buy 10 boxes of .40. Clerk told me that customers are limited to 6 boxes per person per day. WTF? A sale is a sale. I understand that they try to accomodate as many customers as possible. But, I doubt they woud say anything if I bought every screwdriver in the store.Anyone else had this issue at any Wal Mart?

Ask for the department manager. Then ask them to show you Wal-Mart's official policy on this, in writing.

If it's still a "no-go", tell the department manager you will call the "people upstairs" at Corporate Wal-Mart in Bentonville, Arkansas (1-800-WAL-MART), and ask them about Wal-Mart's official policy on how many items a customer may purchase per visit.

I have noticed that at several places lately. Frankly I agree with it and think it is a good idea. No law that says they have to sell you any.

Step across 70 there and go to Dick's. They are still selling it by the case. In fact, a few weeks back, it was on sale there.

Quite frankly, doesn't matter to me the max Wal-mart will sell. I haven't been in one that had ammo yet.

They have it on sale at the Dick's here except they don't have any. Walmart had some 9mm but there were two deputies there buying all of it. No .380 anywhere to be found but seems to be plenty of .40 and even some .357 Sig.

Neither of our walmarts has any, except a couple boxes of 38 today. Shooting range is out of 45. Pawn/gun shop has a one box limit. Going back in a few days, I need another box for my CCP class. As luck would have it I get the super serious instructor who insists on 150 rds. At least I'll get some range time, if I can get the ammo.

150 rounds for a CCP class? Holy cow! I don't even think we shot a half of a box #25). If that many.

I'm looking at a self defense class that is mandating 400 rounds.

I wonder if these places can make an exception given the ammo shortage?

The instructor does NRA pistol, rifle, and shotgun, defensive and private instruction. When I asked his wife if they were doing some defensive pistol instruction she told me that was pretty much the idea. I liked the concept actually. She said they were getting lots of folks that they figured would never fire a weapon after the class. They are trying to up the ante on the instruction to insure that folks know what they are doing. They charge $75 for the pistol classes, so I'm hoping it's kind of a 2 in one deal. Regardless, it's a chance to put a lot down range and I really don't get many chances to shoot. She did mention that he requires you to shoot weak side, non dominate hand. I made sure to shoot some lefty today!

3 hours of range time alone would run about $54 give or take, without a knowledgable instructor looking over you. When I signed in there were only 4 other people. I'll let you know if it was worth it.

I was at my local Wal-Mart around midnight (about an hour ago), and they finally got in a "hefty" shipment of handgun ammo. They had a TON of boxes of WWB 9mm (50 rnds and 100 rnds), and two boxes of Blazer Brass 9mm. They also had quite a bit of .45, .38, and a few boxes of .40. They even had .32!!

I only needed 9mm.

I bought the Blazer Brass ($9 each) and several hundred rounds of the WWB 100 rnd ($20 each), knowing that all the 9mm would be gone by tommorrow, and who knows when I would see it again at Wal-Mart. Until I start seeing that ammo cabinet slam full every time I go in there, I will continue to hoard the 9mm before the next guy after me does. I now have many many hundreds of rounds of various 9mm ammo, which I will continue to keep saving and stockpiling until this ammo crisis dies down. And after it does, I just won't have to worry about buying 9mm target ammo for a very long time.

Just to note, I've been doing the same thing with 7.62x39 ammo, although I do NOT buy that at Wal-Mart because of the small box/high round cost.

The ammo Supply/Demand/Equilibrium has really gotten out of hand, as ammunition is practically like gold now. I really do hope this madness stops soon so I can cut my monthly expenses.

There's a limit of six in Greensboro at the one I go to. The manager said it was pretty much so dealers couldn't come in and buy it all up before regular customers get any. He sounded like if you weren't trying to come in and clean them out that you could probably get more but their out right now anyway .
