I haven't had time to pursue much on it besides getting the Nora form from event permitting. Life got in the way. I don't see much point in hassling with it until we have some things clarified.

Someone just posted on Nevada Shooters that the event is on the El Cortez private lot. They also said a "No Firearms" notice was just posted to their Facebook page.

Scroll down a little. It's on the right side of the timeline. It says no weapons, firearms, or lasers allowed on the premises. Just below that, there's a pic with a gunbuster image.

Yeah, I posted the pic to NS. I've been a regular attendee to strEATS for the past few months and I've always ccw'd. They always did a bag check of sorts but never wanded or frisked people. I posted a few comments to their FB page telling them how misinformed and useless it is to post "gun free zones". I got an official sounding reply comment from Keith McCoy talking about how they expected some "debate" on the issue, it's not a knee-jerk reaction to the Colorado and Wisconsin shootings and blah blah. He also quoted that LVO regarding special events as well as some misinformation about the legality of "gun free" signs in NV. I posted a link to NRS chapter 202 and the text of the preemption statute. I just checked again a minute ago and all of our posts have been deleted on FB. I don't know if he's actually an employee of the organizer or just some guy who has decided to speak for them but he didn't seem very receptive. Before my comments and a couple others' were deleted, the popular opinion seemed to be going against them.

Here's the pic

So why do they descriminate against snub nose revolvers?

Go take a look at what I just put on the thread for that sign (on their Facebook page), and be prepared to laugh... They've already deleted my comment the first time. Nothing better than doing a copy-and-paste again to make sure they get my point...

I just posted to the page as well. Also to the slidin thru burger joint page. We used to eat in that place and OC with no issues. I let them know that because of them being at streats we wouldn't return.

One of the owners of Slidin' Thru is the organizer of Vegas Streats -- so not only are they AT streats, they ARE streats.

No legal bearing, no, same as every other sign on private property, but it does show their attitude, and expressly makes OC unwelcome, even though everyone knows the concealed carriers don't care.

Can we do anything about it, or will we be biting off more than we can chew?
